If he wanted Ken gone he would not have said what he did. He would have made some generic the players are behind Ken and want to win the last two games comment. He literally said he loved him lol.
Of course he would have. He’s been told he’s being rolled out to talk up the coach and told what to say.

What do we expect Connor to say ? “Yea, Kens lost the playing group, number of the boys can’t stand him and we want him sacked”

Shades of our then captain Dom C shopping for Nespresso while our game was on.
This stems back a long doesn't it, the club has been moving further away from what I know as the PAFC for a while now.

May be that's what supporters should do when the team is playing, oh I couldn't be bothered going to the game, I will take the wife shopping instead.

So the club is directing our players to say that they love Ken Hinkley. Wonderful.

The players really can't not back the guy in public when asked, but i have found the recent strong support of Ken from some players quite funny when i look at the piss weak effort they put out on Saturday night... if that was playing for Ken then that's clear evidence we desparately need a change.

They could just say that the club and players will not be commenting until the end of the season

You know, in line with what Kock said yesterday morning

This has all the hallmarks of a internally driven counter offensive

One of the reasons I believe Clarkson is in play is because it's reaching a point where the appointment of Clsrko is looking like Koch's only salvation. It's not an easy sell to shoot Bambi and then replace him with a novice, who will then be judged extra critically.
Koch is being super quiet this week. Now, of course that could mean he's hiding in a bunker waiting for this to all blow over. But it could also mean he has something up his sleeve and is playing his cards as close to his chest as he can amidst this barrage of noise.
It's at the point now where if Hinkley is sacked he'll need to be replaced with a k own winner.

Yeah happy to be proven wrong but I can't see them sacking him now, I doubt they even gave Clarko a real shot.

I'm mentally moving on, we'd probably have more luck getting the bars sorted and axing Ken if Olsen was in charge.

Yeah, this “what do you expect them to say?!” stuff is grating.

There’s a wide spectrum of alternatives between saying absolutely nothing and ME LOVE COACH ME WANT COACH SUPPORTERS ARE POOPOO DOODOO

I'm beyond despondent about all of this.

We are trapped funding a low performance boys club run by a morning tv host and a Geelong hillbilly - the former who only cares about his own personal brand and the latter who only cares about his bank balance. Neither even remotely care about winning a premiership. And the CEO is a pathetic sock puppet yes man for Koch.

We are currently being held hostage as members by a media from across the border acting as a protection racket for their dumb hillbilly mate who now has a tenure of record length for no success. The same media who mercilessly pursue and contribute to the demise of coaches at all other clubs. We are expected to see mediocrity as the best our club can hope for and being gaslit into accepting that our natural place in the order is at the bottom of the ladder. And then the salt in the wound is that dickhead Kane Cornes with his condescending and conflicted commentary which hasn't once been called out by anyone else in the media.

We have become the exact opposite of everything Port Adelaide stood for and importantly what made it great and why it competes in the AFL. I'm honestly left wondering what is the point in us in this guise? I'm not actually convinced SA is a big enough market to require a second plastic franchise. We really might as well not exist to be frank.

All this is made so much worse by having no way to action change because we don't control our club as members. It's just depressing to see someone like Tredders sitting there just as pissed off as any of us but powerless to affect change.

Even in 2011-2012 the club still felt like Port Adelaide. Things were dire but you felt like the coach and the administration really cared and really wanted the club to be successful. They hurt with the supporters and didn't make excuses. They accepted the challenge and failed but didn't fail to try. The idiots in charge now simply don't care. They don't hurt and they don't understand the supporters hurt. We are white noise and don't matter to them. They should be ashamed at what they've turned a once proud club into.
This is exactly how i currently feel.

Ever noticed how fans and members are completely out of the picture — except to be painted as disrespectful morons?

It’s all about what Hinkley might want, or what Hinkley deserves, or what Hinkley has done, or Hinkley’s future.

F#%k us though, our responsibility is just to keep bankrolling this farce.
Ken forevever, we give up we have been beaten into submission, we love you ken.

That Conner article is a bit more than a support me coach it reeks again of the club pushing back ala the co captains debacle. Decision made here is us justifying it later to retract as a disaster.

I have two problems with it Connor.

One....No the team won't turn up. We will probably lose the same way we have consistently goaless quarter goals in last 30 seconds, inefficient forwards blah blah blah.

Two what is with the consistent narrative that the only people that they listen to are those within the club. Port has always been great at us against them but it's not the fans against the club morons.

If he stays on the back of a soft draw we probably make finals and he will be a genius to the acolytes but all the same things will still be there... Shit game plan... Three foot key forward.....horrendous skill level.. gaslighting the fans.

This club needs change the players need a new voice or it's more of the same.

And I won't be there.

I totally believe that Ken is extremely liked by the playing group.
Yea I think so as well there's probably only the handful of players on the fringe that don't like the coach as there is at every club.

This is why players don't make the call because they get invested with whoever is there & see fukc all wrong with anything.

Imagine if Ken has actually over delivered, and not under delivered with this group.

Are we too invested? Are we the ones whonare wrong?

You guys are being harsh on Ken. He hasn't had a ruck all year and this issue was clear for anyone to see watching Nank dominate on Saturday night.
Nah, injuries are no longer an excuse. Ken's job was to develop a playing list and style that is competitive and can beat anyone, anytime. He has failed to do that and as a result deserves the harsh criticisms of the Port faithful.

Losing Licett early in the year was not helpful but some would say his ruck work is nothing much to speak about anyway.

Finlason has had an awesome season as a make shift ruck having to play multiple roles and doing pretty well with all the challenges thrown at him.

In fairness, there's also a difference between being door stopped by waiting media and being rolled out with a script to front the media. Out of interest, who is Connors manager? Is he the same as Hinkleys? And even if not, it's worth remembering these managers all move in the same circles, attend the same parties and functions etc.

He is more disliked than liked by the playing group. If you're in his club, you can do no wrong. If you're not he barely speaks to you.

Of course.

At this point I don't even care. I'd rather a new coach take us to 18th next year than another midtable season under Hinkley. At least then we would have tried something. At least then I can show up to games of football actually wanting us to win, even if we don't. Anything is better than this boring purgatory.

Just remembered Kane Cornes telling us how bad Primus was compared to Hinkley.

Give me a principled, dedicated Port Adelaide man who would bleed for the club but can't coach over a dumb, greedy, sociopathic hillbilly who also can't coach any day of the week.

And the fact that Primus wanted to rid the club of a selfish little rat like you Kane is actually an indicator that he did have some idea what he was doing. F*** you Kane, I don't care what you did on grand final day, Primus deserves that medal way more than you ever will.
