For quite a while I've said that Hinkley should not be allowed to build another "new team"
Hinkley has had 3 teams already.

1. The run and gun Burgess team of 2013-2017 when Burgess left Results 5th 3rd 9th 10th

by then Burgess gone and a lot of the speed had been taken out of the team White, Impey, Krakeour, Cornes were all gone

2. Second team was the traded in players

so we had already brought in Ryder and Dixon so then at the end of 2017 we add Motlop, Watts, Rockliff, McKenzie, Trengove pretty much ignoring the draft.
Results were 10th 10th

3 Third team was the team created by the Wingard & Polec trades

at the end of 2018 we trade out Wingard, Pittard & Polec to get Burton, Rozee, Butters & Duursma since then he's been picking off players to boost our draft hand

Results 3rd 3rd 12th

No 4th Team Sack Hinkley

Yep Bucko has had his go.

It's more than weird the conga line of Donut's cheer squad lining up to save his job. His pass mark this year was the GF now it's how we go

against Essendon and the neighbours 14th and 15th respectively. On what planet is this even logical.

This guy is going to screw us for everything he can because right now I reckon he hates us and what he's doing is a massive up yours

to old school supporters and the club. Anybody who questions or doubts his bona fides brings out his nasty vindictive sociopathic trait.

So Kochie sack the Donut and find more sponsors to recoup your blunders.

I love all of the 'The Power couldn't afford Clarkson' comments you see around the place. And what, North Melbourne can afford him? The perception that we're still a tiny club that loses millions each year shits me to tears.

Kochie's 'little battler club from Alberton' remarks certainly don't help.

North Melbourne = debt free and no coach to pay out.

Port Adelaide = 12 million in debt (and rising) and one spud to offload.

We aren't a tiny club, but we do lose millions every year. Don't kid yourself.

I've been hearing ken is gone after showdown,I'm like, why not now,it's causing so much sh!t,but reading possibly it's to do with waiting for the end of year 50% pay out to kick in kinda makes sense

Lol it's a sign of how people's brains have been completely broken that anyone "in the know" on this board is instantly dismissed while some "in the know" boob on the North board is taken as gospel.

Which in the know posters on this board have been instantly dismissed? There has been very little in the way of information either indicating that the sacking of Hinkley is imminent or linking Clarkson to a vacancy in the event that Hinkley is sacked.

The best indication we have had was from the Chairman himself, who has since been challenged, even dared, by the protection racket to actually act on his words and hasn't been seen or heard from since. We are being told that sacking Hinkley would be a disgrace and Koch has a history of backing down under this type of pressure. This is where a lot of the pessimism of the past 48 hours has come from.

I think it's still possible he gets sacked but it's deluded to think Clarkson will patiently wait around for the idiots on our board to actually make a decision.

Port Adelaide 2021 Operating profit $4.2 million

If a sacked coach is entitled to a payout, how much control does the club have over which year's soft cap that payout is counted against.

Not replacing Voss or Schofield must mean we are comfortably within the 2022 soft cap.

Have we created capacity to sack Hinkley, pay him out within the 2022 soft cap, and be free to hire a new senior coach and assistants with an unencumbered 2023 football department budget?

The first question off the rank for every journo at a player's press conference from here on in will be "Do you want Kenny to be coach next year?" and every player is going to say yes.
He didn't just say yes, I want him to be my coach, he went further without being prompted, on how Kenny not Ken brings the best out of him and is a big influence on him and how Kenny is usually laid back but the he's feeling the pressure. Said everything possible to promote him bar say he wants live with him and Donna.

Question is,is why are the club putting them up to the media

Agreed and we can sack Bassett and Cornes to make even more room.

Our players are better at defending their coach and praising opposition then they are playing football.
Right defend Ken on the field but it’s too late for that so it just seems like the players are lying when they they that they want Ken to stay

To be fair, I think Hinkley has been pretty good for Butters off the field. I remember an article from 2020 or 2021 talking about the paternal/pastoral role Hinkley filled for Butters while dealing with family issues. It's also not like Butters called us white noise or a pack of dumb campaigners, unlike Dixon.

The problem is that Butters has no frame of reference (no experience as a professional footballer under another senior coach), and Hinkley having some strong interpersonal relationships doesn't excuse him from being an appalling tactician and student of the game.

There were a lot of Portia Happy Clappers on here. Had * all idea about football.
I think you said the same about me, except you were right, I was good for the squeaking pig.

Saying that I wanted to trade Gray and most of our leaders because they didn’t have composure. Ultimately I was sort of right even though Gray ended up being a very good player.

We have never questioned Hinkley's ability to be a good father figure and sensitive to peoples problems (unless you play fortnite) he's simply a shit coach.
