It‘s funny how expectations change over time. Back when we were considered the most successful club in the land, we never sugar coated bad performances. The words ‘Almost’, ‘’Nearly’, ‘Try Harder’, ‘Tough Competition’ etc were never part of the Port vernacular. Ken, Koch, Richardson etc wouldn’t have lasted 5 minutes in that highly demanding environment, they would have quit or been unceremoniously kicked to the curb side.
We didn’t set the standard, we were the standard that every other club envied & wanted to be. We won multiple Premierships not because we necessarily had the most highly skilled players, but because we almost always had the greater desire to win. I hate what we’ve become, & what we now deem acceptable. This great club still has a faint pulse, but it will never rise again to it’s former glory until the cancer is removed for good. The hillbilly, our woke President, & all their cheer leading enablers, need to clear their desks & be escorted out the door.
