Boy we fumble a lot

Some players are serial double and triple grabbers with every ground ball. Sometimes they have time to regather, sometimes they don't.

Laird (who's usually very clean) had his opponent lob the ball to him after winning a free... and fumbled it.

Was just an untidy day. Two dropped chest marks in the first 20 seconds set the tone
boy we miss a *ing lot of tackles.. and when we dont miss them… Chayce Jones is about the only one at the club that tackles in a way that restricts the arms and doesnt allow the opponent to simply handball off to a nearby team mate…

Their list is fine if Clarko comes in as coach, no way they need a PP.
Clarko, if the rumour that he is going there is true, wouldve already told Gillon that he has to give North a PP if he’s gonna coach them.. and Gillon wouldve agreed in between sucks..

I'm assuming Shoeys GOTY nomination got plenty of discussion time.

Hopefully next year he can put it together, clearly our stand out midfield prospect
Hopefully he sorts out his mental demons out over the Summer & we see the player most were expecting this year in 2023.

Signs he is turning the corner

My memory that Doedee was third for intercepts as recent as a couple of weeks ago.
Still doesn't look his usual self... but sure he will be back to normal next season.

The good news is Worrell looks a player.

Pity we didn't get more games into him when Doedee was playing injured. ;)

Perhaps... I wondered if Keays was also injured...well before he went off.
Hope Im wrong.
Keays hasn't been right for a while.

Next week we play him as a half forward again as he isn't ok to play midfield.

No he's rated appropriately seeing he's an above average defender, but has become an odd target.

7.8 intercepts (=8th out of defenders in 2022 and 2 intercept marks per game), 4.3 ground ball gets, 24% one on one loss rate (which is above average and equivalent to Brendan Cox), so yeah he's been above average.

If this is a down season, Doedee is a serious footballer.
His 1st half of season was great, but he his form has been inconsistent since he injured his hand.

This is where Chayce is frustrating, there's times you think wow he could be something, then there's times it's the polar opposite. I'm still hopeful he'll be a solid player over time but yeah let's hope next year is a real step up in a settled role plus consistency.

Stop saying nice things about Chayce, that's an infraction.

Ugly: North's list

Absolute s**t. How on earth did we win the spoon over them in 2020?
Honest answer, shortened season. Play 5 more rounds in 2020 and there's no way we finish bottom. They didn't win a game after R9 and we won 3 of our last 4.

Well, we were down against North at half time because we turned up for... like some kind of touch football style game?

North!

North were poor enough to not torch us by 5 more goals.
Those poor last 2 minutes in the 1st quarter which lead to a very poor 2nd quarter definitely cost us at least another 5 goals.
