The entire head office has fallen away by the sounds of it. I understand they have had a reboot with Simon & Sam moving on but I hear it’s a battle to get an email responseSince Sam left has gone downhill

This is how well they are going our U10's team which has 14 home and away games have 6 home games and 8 away games and when we questioned them about it was basically bad luck. They can't work out how to spread a fixture fairly and evenly and tell you it is out of their control, just very poor administrationThe entire head office has fallen away by the sounds of it. Should not have gradings now once age hits over 15’s for both girls and boys got to grow up and smell the roses at some stage can’t wrap them in cotton wool there whole lives! Some of the under 19's and Women's fixturing, especially during grading, was baffling.
For a starters if a club has under 19's in the same division as there opponent it should just be accepted the 19's play before the 2's - Bundoora had to play at heidelberg this week before Greensborugh in 1s and 2s, when Bundoora hosted Heidelberg in 1s and 2s last week, but not in the u19s. Get these matches locked in first, then work the fixture back from there.
In the women's grading they were constantly pitting sides against each other that anyone who had looked at the previous weeks fixture could tell you was a huge miss-match. I have no doubt it is not easy, but the point of grading is to figure out where a team fits in against similarly ranked teams, and I think they miss opportunities to do this each week but arranging games that are so obviously 1-sided before a ball is bounced.
What an absolute disgraceful call by the head office of the league.
Clubs will be fined $100 if the goal umpire , they have to supply on game day , doesn’t have an ‘official’ goal umpire top on..
Last weekend we had (U19s) no goal umpires , no boundary umpires & no field umpires allocated to our ‘AWAY’ game..
Each side had to supply one of each.
Now im not sure how many out there have been to U19s games , especially when away from senior sides , but I can tell you getting a medic , runner , team manager , Umpire escort , field umpire , boundary umpire & goal umpire is near on IMPOSSIBLE..
A lot of teams are undermanned, due to player numbers , so there’s no ‘get the guys not playing to help out’ , a lot drive themselves to the games at 8am Saturday morning , so there’s not a heap a parental volunteers available on the day.
Clubs are doing the best they possibly can , presidents - secretaries - commitee members filling required rolls.
Now if you don’t have the right Goal umpire top we will fine you a $100.
No wonder clubs are financially struggling!!!
Do the right thing ffs !!!
What? Their top division need to provide field umpires?Ive seen on twitter this week that the WRFL seniors mens competition are now asking clubs to provide ALL umpires on match days. They dont have the numbers.
Unless a drastic change occurs i see the NFNL going the same way in 2023.
Very sad state of affairs but lets be honest, the AFL and AFLVic could have seen this coming from a mile away. Poor governance.
What? Their top division need to provide field umpires?
Yeah that’s terrible. It was a lower division club that was asking for help to provide umpires but i think any senior game having to provide their own umpires is a call for concern.
The was between all divisions not just that game. What happened in the Bundoora game last week? 34 weeks worth of suspensions handed out…
No, the VAFA has 7 divisions we have 3.Hypothetical question
Does the NFNL need to look at bottom 2 being relegated and grand final teams being promoted like the VAFA do?
So if it was round 18 now going bottom 2 and top 2
Relegated division 1: Whittlesea and Hurstbridge
Promoted from Div 2 to Div 1: Eltham and Banyule
Relegated division 2: Epping and Fitzroy Stars
Promoted from division 3 to Div 2: Laurimar and Sth Morang
10571z all good points, like I said was just a hypothetical question. No, the VAFA has 7 divisions we have 3.
Some clubs would rather take the potential flag the following season.
Should the offer be put up? Yes, especially this year with Epping and Fitzroy but should be agreed by all parties.
The year Eltham got relegated they won 5 games in D1, no way second last should have been relegated as well.
For example Bundoora would have been relegated in 2019…. That’s not good for the league

Denny Crane i do agree re celebrating a grand final win is the ultimate but it has worked well in the VAFA.Its a good question but I have posed this issue before, would players want to go up without that one thing they want, a premiership.
Whilst clubs may want to be in higher divisions, earning that right but winning and celebrating is a huge thing.
Not everyone wins a premiership and does not matter what division when you win one it is celebrated and remembered. Going up a division and possibly being a the bottom rung of the ladder for a few years without a premiership is unfair to players in my opinion.
Mate I very much agree with the concept I am thinking as a player that say loses a GF by a goal. Then to be up a division and possibly not a chance for a few years, at best, of finals or fighting for relegation.Denny Crane i do agree re celebrating a grand final win is the ultimate but it has worked well in the VAFA.
If you only do 2 up and 2 down from division 2 to 3 it gives clubs like Sth Morang, Laurimar and Kilmore the chance to move up.
The gap between Epping and Fitzroy stars with the rest of Division 2 is huge, not good for any comp to have 120+ point losses in your 2nd best grade.
You put Laurimar and Sth Morang into division 2 next year the overall standard will improve. If they finish in bottom 2, then back to division 3 they go.
If Epping and Fitzroy stars are good enough, then they make grand final and move straight back up
Like I said just a hypothetical though
It makes sense this year due to their being 2 sides completely uncompetitive in d2. But that’s not always the case.Denny Crane i do agree re celebrating a grand final win is the ultimate but it has worked well in the VAFA.

10571z what if the club sees itself as a division 2 club and making the grand final ensures they get to go up. I reckon if Turtles did make grand final they would go up.It makes sense this year due to their being 2 sides completely uncompetitive in d2. But that’s not always the case.
I believe the options should be given to the sides and if they mutually agree then it can happen.
Would a side like West Heidelberg or Old Eltham want to go up without a premiership? I can’t imagine so.
A lot of clubs want a flag over playing on a higher division. Add the option if both parties agree, but it shouldn’t be set in stone.10571z what if the club sees itself as a division 2 club and making the grand final ensures they get to go up. As for West Heidelberg, it hard to make the grand final from 4th, but impossible to do from 5th (with a top 5). I think West would be rapt to make finals but not going to happen in 2022
Diamo seem to be a real powerhouse now they recruit from everywhereSigh. I play for Darebin seniors, I am so disappointed that we couldn’t get across the line, we did so much hard work put on a good fight but couldn’t capitalise when needed.
