I think it will involve pick 5 in some form but it won't be a straight swap.

Ideal scenario for both clubs is a third club gets involved with a player heading to GC as part of a trade.

Why would gc want pick 5 just so they can get another kid in that will take another 4-5 years to develop. They need experience. Surely the best outcome for them is someone like Milera who once he gets his stuff together could be a very good player together with our 2023 1st which should be around pick 8-9. Their 2023 2nd which should be around pick 28 back to us would even the deal out. This would then allow us to use our own 2023 2nd (pick 26?) together with their 2023 2nd (pick 28?) to get back into the 2023 1st round. This then allows us to use pick 5 by going after an experienced mid this trade period such as Hopper or use it in the draft.

He’s not coming home. He’s chasing the money of a very specific contract from a particular club

But from the updates coming out doesn’t appear to be the over the top ridiculous dollars originally reported. Which suggests coming home to the team he grew up following, playing in front of big crowds etc is playing a bigger part than was first reported

The Suns have the same issue GWS have had for a few years now.. too many high draft picks that are turning into great footballers all at the same time and they havent got the space in the salary cap to accomodate even half of them.. these lads want and deserve to be paid accordingly.

Time for Adelaide to use their massive cap space and pillage someone else for a change.

That was our own doing, though. Lyons was out of contract and we basically pushed him out the door with a lowball contract offer. By doing so (not to mention playing him as the sub pretty much every week) we devalued our own player - why would they pay more for an uncontracted player that we clearly couldn't be much more eager to get rid of? We shot ourselves in the foot with both barrels on that one. Similar to the Keath and Greenwood trades - when you've made it obvious that you don't want to keep the player, you do not give yourself a strong bargaining position.

If you ever want to get rich quick, try to get yourself into a poker game with our list management team...

The other big issue they are having is that they just seem like a weird club without a proper fanbase even after all this time....
