“48 games in four years”
Why would gc want pick 5 just so they can get another kid in that will take another 4-5 years to develop. They need experience. Surely the best outcome for them is someone like Milera who once he gets his stuff together could be a very good player together with our 2023 1st which should be around pick 8-9. Their 2023 2nd which should be around pick 28 back to us would even the deal out. This would then allow us to use our own 2023 2nd (pick 26?) together with their 2023 2nd (pick 28?) to get back into the 2023 1st round. This then allows us to use pick 5 by going after an experienced mid this trade period such as Hopper or use it in the draft.I think it will involve pick 5 in some form but it won't be a straight swap.
Ideal scenario for both clubs is a third club gets involved with a player heading to GC as part of a trade.
No, but on performance they are very similar. And CC was still contracted when he moved. Was CC pick 3 in the National Draft?
Pick 5 is a great bargaining chip to entice a club to part with a highly proven quality player this trade period. Why would gc want pick 5 so they can get another kid in that will take 4-5 years to develop. The saving from milera's wage allows us to go after a top line mid next trade period.

Would either Milera or GC agree to that? Very doubtful. Why would gc want pick 5 just so they can get another kid in that will take another 4-5 years to develop. They need experience. He’s not coming home. He’s chasing the money of a very specific contract from a particular club
agree, however both contracted for 2023 and 2024.I've been saying Perryman or Cumming would be right up this kind of alley
Also usHe copped it really bad from Richmond supporters.
and Neil "that's not tough football" CraigHe copped it really bad from Richmond supporters.
I didn't think he was that bad, just poor from a salary to performance point of view. He was on pretty decent coin here irrc. Also us
Melbourne might have still taken Jackson, and if Anderson was available we likely wouldn’t have traded pick 4 (would have been 3 if it weren’t for Gold Coast’s PP)How could we have ever got Anderson? Getting confused here I think.
Yeah, the conversation needs to start at pick 5 like so,Gerard Whateley just said, 'well if you're gonna offer that sort of money the trade needs to start with at least pick 5'.
That was our own doing, though. Lyons was out of contract and we basically pushed him out the door with a lowball contract offer. By doing so (not to mention playing him as the sub pretty much every week) we devalued our own player - why would they pay more for an uncontracted player that we clearly couldn't be much more eager to get rid of? We shot ourselves in the foot with both barrels on that one. Similar to the Keath and Greenwood trades - when you've made it obvious that you don't want to keep the player, you do not give yourself a strong bargaining position.
If you ever want to get rich quick, try to get yourself into a poker game with our list management team...

Lyons didn't play as the sub in 2016, the year that we traded him. You could argue gold coast are lowballing Rankine

This is the crux of the matter. Someone mentioned Rankine and Rachele on either flank - but I don't know. How quick will it come out of there? No point in having a turbo forward setup without any decent service
Will be interesting to see how we approach things
I’m going early on Pedlar like I did Worrell.
I’ve seen enough now that he will far exceed Taylor as a midfielder. And I like Taylor.

Then again will it matter with those two?
I can see some midfield time being shared and a rest on the pine for the other.
But a nice problem to have
They can have pick 5 for all I care..
They can grab Phillipou with it..
Then in two to three years from now when their packed to the rafters midfield has players like Phillipou struggling to get a game even though they are well worthy of one..
We’ll snatch him off of them for fxxk all..
I’m also actually hoping Elijah Hollands can be enticed out of there when his current contract ends and we offer him a big money deal that the salary cap strapped suns cant go anywhere near matching.
Hollands was another mad crow fan growing up..
Get Rankine to stay in contact with Hollands… stay in his ear.
The Suns have the same issue GWS have had for a few years now.. too many high draft picks that are turning into great footballers all at the same time and they havent got the space in the salary cap to accomodate even half of them.. these lads want and deserve to be paid accordingly.
Time for Adelaide to use their massive cap space and pillage someone else for a change.
EAD ya orange and yellow fxxkers!..
