Technically yes but numbers like that were still common in cases where businesses wanted to spell something in particular. The first 10 digits were all that mattered when actually dialling so it made no difference if you dialled the S or just BIGTIT. 1800 REVERSE was a well known one.

I think the opposite. They want points next year - they can trade that first for multiple seconds next year to get their Academy players.

Why would gc want pick 5 just so they can get another kid in that will take another 4-5 years to develop. They need experience. Surely the best outcome for them is someone like Milera who once he gets his stuff together could be a very good player together with our 2023 1st which should be around pick 8-9. Their 2023 2nd which should be around pick 28 back to us would even the deal out. This would then allow us to use our own 2023 2nd (pick 26?) together with their 2023 2nd (pick 28?) to get back into the 2023 1st round. This then allows us to use pick 5 by going after an experienced mid this trade period such as Hopper or use it in the draft.

Why would Milera even consider going?

He still has two years to run on his 5 year contract, he is settled here and recently his first baby born. He ain’t going anywhere as much as we would like him to.

$3.5M over 5 years is $700K and it went from $800K (Essendon offer) to $900K (Rucci's source) to $850K (just half them). $700K will make Rankine one of our highest paid player with Laird and Sloane on $800-850K.

I’m excited as anyone for Rankine but we NEED an A-class midfielder. We’ve needed one for years.

No point have great forwards and great defenders if we keep losing in the middle.

Gold Coast will (understandably) be asking for Pick 5. Hopefully we can find a way to keep it and draft that midfielder but I just don’t see how.

we dont really lose the middle.. the problem is our middle wins plenty of the ball.. but they just use it poorly.

we need to add two classy mids..

and never ever play Keays, sloane or mcrouch in the middle again.

I think trading in a mature aged classy mid is more a must than drafting one. its just finding one that wants to come over.
