I want him to come back because 2015 can barely be counted given the crazy pressure and issues. I still believe when it comes to pure coaching and leadership he has an incredible ability to manage and build people up. GWS saw it (even with their list imploding) and before the wheels fell off due to the saga he did far more in terms of creating a "brand of football" and "learning" than we've had then entire time of Worsfold and Rutten.

Just because apprenticeships are all the rage, doesn't mean they are the be all and end all.... otherwise Rutten would have worked. he was under Dimma in their early success and then under Worsfold who is a premiership coach. At some point we need to stop trying to depersonalise this game and make everything about "the system". All the greatest memories I have of watching this club are because we defied systems and popular opinions - because we were prepared to be different and go against the flow... I don't want to watch a Red and Black Richmond, or Collingwood. yes I want to see premierships, but even more than that I want to see a club that shows its backs-to-the-wall fighting spirit again.
You think there won't be crazy pressure this time. It will be a friggin circus

Why not wait until the external review is complete before adding members to the board. It may be decided the board is too large or doesn’t have the diversity.
Well they’ve said it will be part of the external review, but even with that said I was looking at some data today and all of the AFL clubs have 7-12 directors. We’re down to 6 at the moment so good chance we add at least 1.

In Mark Neeld's last 11 games as senior coach, he went 1-10, losing by more than 100 points once.

In James Hird's last 11 games as senior coach, he went 1-10, losing by more than 100 points twice.

Seems like Neeld is being shortchanged in discussions about a triumphant return to coaching at Essendon, don't you all think?

Mick reckons we’re a premiership fancy this year, might as well get him out of retirement. Certainly experienced enough

He’s a dickhead but he has a good line to the club. So long as he’s reporting and not opining it’s reasonable to take it as being inside the ballpark.
Does it look like that because he tweets every possibility he can think of then goes back and deletes the incorrect ones?

Might as well go with Scott Watters. Ive always wanted to see a dwarf burnt.

Are you aware that there is someone already in this role and that it's not a stepping stone position?
oh… i just assumed they had been fired / resigned in the great EFC purge of 2022
