Geelong vs pies final should not be at the mcg.

Do Geelong fans realise that all their finals they have played in have all been at the MCG or Waverley park bar Kardina Park. Also from my understanding the afl have done Geelong a favour to try an entice more then 20,000 Geelong fans to turn up to play the game at 4:35 pm as if it was at 7:20 most Geelong fans that live in Geelong would probably prefer to stay at home and watch it as it would take them minimum 90 minutes by car and 2 hours by train to get home and they probably wouldn’t get home by midnight.

Still they will be heavily outnumbered 2 to 1 on Saturday afternoon

Does it really matter? Geelong and collingwood have a very favourable draw with the loser getting to play the winner of freo vs dogs, that's a free win.

Also, Geelong get to train on the game that they play on. What a luxury that not many clubs get.

Add to that Fyfe hamstring. Might be raining cats and dogs…

But we arent playing on it.

and i cant see how it isnt a ouxury at all. What benefit does training on it provide? Not that it matters as we arent playing on it.

And good I say. Footy should be played on a real footy ground.
like a circular cricket ground that results in an average style of football?

the mcgs dimensions need to be made more like geelongs. It results in more direct football and makes it harder to flood defences. Its makes football more like it used to be. But maybe you just like modern keepings off football? Its fine if thats your thing. Its not mine.

When thats the only answer you can muster you kind of know that your club is in the wrong.
If you think that Collingwood engineered the match at the MCG then you know you're whining in the wrong thread.
They are not in the wrong and their supporters are not in the wrong.
The AFL may be in the wrong, but I reckon when the cheques hit the bank even Geelong are not crying about a match at the MCG.

As I said I feel your pain.

I have saved space above in case Collingwood manage to beat Geelong.

Space on this thread will be at a premium.
I will auction this post space to the highest Cats bidder.

With all due respect, you’re cooked.

You play all of your homes at your training venue. That's a massive advantage. my club travels to Cranbourne to train. We don't even train on a ground the same size of our home ground. Geelong get a massive advantage training on their own home ground.

There is no advantage. You cant seriously think training on the mcg would give you any more familiarity then the 15 games you play on the mcg each season? What exact benefit do you think it provides? Clubs redraw the dimensions of their training grounds to match the grounds they play on. So its not dimensions.

and again. We arent playing our home final on that ground. We are playing it on the ground our opponents plays 15 games each year compared to our 5-6. If familiarity gives an advantage then all you are doing is making an additional case as to why this weeks game needs to be at geelong.

So we have, not getting enough sleep, no good coffee shops, trains not running, crammed into cars to get to Melbourne, playing at Collingwoods home ground.

Any others?

I'm starting to feel more confident now.
More confident in what? Trolling a minority of complaining supporters hardly makes a difference. Most Cats fans are delighted it's on a Saturday.

2017 Geelong had a poor side (same points total as Freo this year) and 2019 QF they underperformed. Pies were excellent that night, too.

Great Geelong teams beat anyone at the G. There just hasn't been a great Geelong side since 2011. Simple as that.

So you have no answer and then just grumble instead? Thats a toddler-esque response with all due respect.
The answer is to stop complaining about things that aren’t in your control and clearly ain’t happening anytime soon. Enjoy the fact your team is playing finals, enjoy the moment and get behind your team. Hope this is a more adult response for you.

His complaining is not in your control and won't stop anytime soon. Enjoy the fact your team is playing finals, enjoy the moment and get behind your team. Complaining about complaining is hardly a productive hobby, is it?

thats the answer to the question of how to deal with ones own mental health in response to external events that are out of your control. It is not the answer to the question of where should this weeks game be played.
