Really want us to get Bruhn. Watched the first 3Q's against us, yes it's his best game and it was us but it was impressive. I could be wrong but I don't think he has to be played just as an inside mid like others think (even if that's his best spot).

My thought on just this game.
  • Really skilled, super footy smart and tough.
  • Reminded me on Toby.
  • Dangerous forward (kicked 2 against us on doggy frees v Hayden).
  • Think he could play all areas of the ground expect wing.
  • Damaging long kick and duel sided, toughness to play in defense (like Toby did in his 2nd year).
  • Clarkson may see another Sam Mitchell in this kid.
Yeah good off both feet and has some decent pace too

Bruhn and Logue as others mentioned would be the perfect off season

A 26 year old CHB who is good in the air. 4 years will be the prime of his career!
This is awesome news. Our biggest preseason need fixed.
Now spend PSD pick 1 on him please.
I want it all and I dont want to spend anything!

I'd say a second quality key forward is a bigger need, but you need a bit of luck in terms of having one that wants to move.

North Melbourne has interest in St Kilda’s Hunter Clark

The Kangaroos are looking to improve their list, and a former top-10 draft pick looms as gettable according to industry sources.

North Melbourne is interested in prising St Kilda’s Hunter Clark from Moorabbin in the upcoming trade period.

Clark, 23, the No. 7 draft pick in 2017, is contracted for 2023 but rival clubs believe he is gettable at the right price, and it’s understood the Kangaroos are one of the clubs keeping a watching brief on the situation.

The smooth-moving rebounding defender, who has also been used through the midfield, has previously spoken of his interest in playing more midfield minutes.

After a breakout 2020 in which he finished ninth in the club’s best and fairest and was a key part of the club’s run to the finals, Clark has endured a difficult two seasons with injury, playing just 13 matches in 2021 and only eight in 2022, with his progress cruelled by several ugly head collisions.

North has been sounding out players from rival clubs as the Kangaroos undergo enormous upheaval in the aftermath of back-to-back wooden spoons and the coup of landing legendary coach Alastair Clarkson.

They have shown interest in out-of-contract Saint Ben Long, have been linked to his contracted teammate Bradley Hill – who played under Clarkson at Hawthorn – and Greater Western Sydney youngster Tanner Bruhn, who is widely expected to request a trade back to Victoria. Bruhn also has interest from the Hawks, while Long has been linked to Gold Coast as the Suns seek more run off half-back.

Problematically for North, the Roos currently have no picks between No. 1 and No. 52, having traded out future selections last year to land Callum Coleman-Jones from Richmond. But North’s draft hand could soon be boosted by a priority pick from the AFL; the club having made a submission to the league.

St Kilda is chasing Collingwood free agent Jordan De Goey, whose future remains up in the air. The Saints have been linked to delisted Hawthorn defender Kyle Hartigan, but it’s understood he is not a serious option for Brett Ratten’s side.

As St Kilda undergoes a review, conducted in part by former North coach David Noble, the Saints could also seek to strengthen their draft hand after failing to break back into the eight this season.

Former Saint Leigh Montagna argued in August that the Saints needed to off-load some talent to reset their list.

“I think they need to trade out some of those players they’ve brought in and bring in some more young talent and reset — Brad Hill, Zak Jones and maybe Jack Billings or Jade Gresham to try and get some other young talent in,” Montagna said on Fox Footy.

The Kangaroos on Friday confirmed that veteran ruckman Todd Goldstein had signed a one-year contract extension with the club.

We certainly have a thing for that draft year.

Junter Clark?

I'd say both tbh, but not a lot of kpf avail outside of trying to prise one out which hopefully we are doing.... but if not I'm ok with a gunston short term and cadman in draft....

This might be an ignorant suggestion but if we don't go PSD with Bruhn (if he picks North) then does it make sense to trade back to 3 for Bruhn and a later GWS pick (to help get Logue, if he picks North)?

Then we pick Cadman, assuming that GWS really want Wardlaw or Tsatas.
It makes sense for us, does it make sense for GWS though? If we rate Cadman, Wardlaw and Tsatas (or any other three of the likely top picks) all about the same then it would be a great move. The problem will be if GWS feel exactly the same way.

Clark is a good play but thought he was more a mid?

Was a mid at under 18’s level but hadn’t really been given much of a go there in the seniors.

Good one on one defender, courageous and neat skills. Tonnes more upside than Long imo. Only downside is he hasn’t been overly durable in his career thus far.

I like it, but I can’t see how we’d have the draft capital to make it happen. You’d expect the Saints would want a top 20 pick for him.
