Dogs have always held interest in him.God Finn Callaghan would be so perfect for us. If there's any chance he would come to us we need to move heaven and earth.
Whether they make a play this year or next, who knows

Is his contract up next year? Can't see it happening this year but Dunkley out, Callaghan in would rebalance us wellDogs have always held interest in him.

Sydney play Franklin Reid McDonaldIf Lobb wants to come to the Dogs you take it.
My issue is that you can only play another tall with him if we want to compete with the way the best teams are playing today. Its a running game, you can't afford 3 big guys up forward who can be ran off. This this causes a break in the chain down field and results in goals. Just look closely how Richmond won premierships and how Collingwood are playing.
Be interesting how Bevo plays it.

There would be worse trade / draft periods than:God Finn Callaghan would be so perfect for us. If there's any chance he would come to us we need to move heaven and earth.
No neither of those things are happening he is due 750k we are adding years and smoothing it out to be 500k a year and our first will be nowhere near the deal. Yes 700k for Grundy is too much as he can't play forwardSimple question. Is our club stupid enough to pay out Lobb's last year at 750K or use a first rounder on him? I can’t see Freo doing it for less.
In other words we'll pay 750 for one year for Lobb then 500? But 700 for Grundy is too much?
Wish I could've liked this more than once. The obvious standout of the top 6 teams is the quality of their tall defenders compared to the bulldogs. It has been apparent all season and is even more obvious on the big stage. Their tall defenders not only defend but also create attack from defence where our defenders are flat just trying to defend and provide nil in offensive plays.
We don't need to trade for them we need to actually start drafting them. Andrews was pick 61, De Koning Pick 19 and McCartin was pick 33. We will have picks around the mark in the late 1st early to mid 2nd but actually have to draft them to get themWish I could've liked this more than once.
It might not be possible because teams won't want to give up their quality KPDs for exactly the same reason, but we should be throwing as much as we can at this. Getting a top level, established KPD and drafting another to develop behind them would be priority one for me.
Sydney play Franklin Reid McDonald
Geelong play Hawkins Cameron Rohan
Brisbane play Hipwood McStay Daniher
Why does it work for 3/4 Prelim finalists but wont for us?
Naughton just kicked 51 goals Lobb 36 not bad for not natural forwardsBecause we lack system, cohesion, a plan and all those you name above are natural forwards.
Our only natural forward that I can see is JUH. Naughton is not a natural forward he still has work to do and probably has little help from coaches in terms of guidance and developing a system.
JUH knows when to lead and where BUT our team has never seen a natural forward so they don't know what it looks like to use it.

We just need to strap a ball & chain to Cody during pre-season so he stays at the feet of the forwards. If Lobb wants to come to the Dogs you take it.

I can't see it either, and the reason why is I reckon it's because he'd look EXTREMELY strange in our kit. You know those blokes that you just can't possibly imagine them in any other colours except their current ones? He's the epitome of that. Can anyone imagine Grundy in Docker Purple, Sydney Red & White, or Tiges Black and Gold? Strange....
I will post this occasionally until he nominates Norf ($) or we declare we aren’t chasing another ruckman (as Bevo hates them).

You do realise the 'Macca' in that article is Don McKenzie, who coached the club as well as being effectively a senior assistant for Hart and Hampshire? He still follows the club closely, and if you ever get the chance to chat to him at a game, is very astute on current tactics.Let’s be honest, that piece has just been written by joe blow supporters like us.
There’s definitely some valid points, but it’s pretty much a cut and paste job from Big Footy talking points. I’d take more from something coming from those in current football programs as opposed to those who sit at home watching our games. Particularly when one of the group members is an 80 year old ex club coach.

Because we aren't going to overpay if they want that we will move on.Why not? He is under contract. Freo need contract space and high picks. They have already indicated they don’t want to give him away.
Grundy ain’t a forward but we don’t need another forward.

We take on his 750 for 2023 but extend it to a 3 year contract averaging 500pa. So he might still get 750 next year, but then only 375pa in year 2 and 3. Or he's happy to adjust the contract to just be 500 each year. Still gets 750 in 2023 off Freo's books. Why not? He is under contract. Freo need contract space and high picks.
