Have a sook campaigner!

Almost all of the above has been done by New Zealand and they have numbers the same of ours on a per capita basis.

You think your list is a panacea for this inevitable wave, but are nominating a suite of placebos.

From here, if the variants aren't shape shifting super variants that will literally require lock downs, then the measures should be targeted and let the general population make their own decisions on life with cautions and ensure that the economy is ticking over, because that is actually what pays for the health system.

If only you people would make these decisions with anything but your own interests in mind.

You do realise that your decisions impact others? Like the absolute shitcampaigner who turned up at the office yesterday as sick as a pig and has advised the business of a positive covid result this morning.

If people could self-govern responsibly then there would be no need for rules to be implemented.

I don't know the ins and outs of whether they would make the health system better or worse as you have suggested. Or anything else for that matter.

I am just of the opinion that the State needs a change of government. Too much baggage over the last 30 months.

Do I think it will happen? Unlikely.
The LNP aren't fit to govern and Dan is an arrogant campaigner. It's like having a Carlton v Collingwood grand final, either way you lose.

Best case scenario is we end up having a minority ALP government with minor parties and independents pulling the strings.

Where is the outrage about this? It's no different to when various LNP MPs have effectively said "if you don't want to be poor, get a better job". Both heinously offensive.

Why on earth would the Education Minister even get involved in a discussion about health? She's got big enough issues of her own to deal with at the moment. Apparently there are 1,900 new teachers that are going to be ready for Term 1 next year, we just don't actually know who they are or where they'll come from.
Possibly outrage reduced by admitting fault and apologising; doesn’t yet have a track record of **** ups

Perhaps educate yourself before you decide who to vote for...regardless of which party that is.

Voting because we "need a change" is as lame as all f***.

just flipping between the two majors because we need a change is lame as **** for sure

That, and I reckon he locked us down for far too long, and he's arrogant as anything.

Plus all of that stuff that was mentioned a few pages back.
so what's Matt Guy got going for him that's better

what are the vic libs going to do if they get in that will be better moving forward

or are you going to vote for someone else

The Dan Andrews list of wrongs:

Red shirt scandal
Hotel Quarantine catastrophe
2014 - “I will fix the ambulance service. Every minute saved is a life saved” 30+ deaths later....
Westgate Tunnel project - no business plan, no compulsory competitive tender process, no end in sight, no expense spared - $5B increase in costs and counting
Suburban Rail Loop - no business case, will cost 4 times what we were told
February 2021 lockdown - Andrews called it and still refuses to tell us why
Playgrounds closed during lockdown because children were having fun
Worlds longest Covid lockdown - 275 days
Victoria the highest taxed state in Australia
Victoria has highest state debt - $165B ++
4000 ICU bed promise - at first he denied the promise until his media release was produced
Branch stacking
Happy to throw ministers and department heads under the bus - Mikakos, Garrett, Merlino, etc
Misuse of taxpayer funds to promote Labor
No government in Australia has used the courts to fight FOI applications more than this government
United Fire Fighters deal - look how that has backfired
2014 - “I will preside over a government that is transparent”
Victorian tourism is at an all time low - While QLD, WA, & NSW governments spend millions promoting their states, VIC is directing all its money to paying interest bills

I could go on....
IMO Andrews does not deserve another term. He has ****ed us over every which way.

Does the LNP deserve a chance? It’s arguable but when you look how Andrews has treated us, how much money has been squandered, how many lies we have been told, it gets to the point where you say any alternative is better, IMO

I fully expect this post will cop the usual mock responses from Danbots

Here's the thing though

With everything Andrew's has done he's still preferable to Vic Libs for enough voters that it's a pretty big indictment on Vic Libs and Guy as well

No argument there. I think voters just need to roll with the punches and vote Labor out

It’s consistent with pattern of building facilities to have a photo op but no staffing plan. Though I also see that even with a staffing plan there’s no fix within one or probably two election cycles.

High vis and a ribbon cutting Ceremony

It's crack for politicians

I don't fundamentally disagree with what you are saying but with Matthew Guy as the alternative sometimes it is better the devil you know.

There is nothing in Matthew Guy at all that suggests that he would be an improvement. Andrews has plenty of faults but Vic Libs are an absolute shambles.

Perhaps the best outcome is to return Labor and hope that Andrews transitions out halfway through his next term.

The best way would be the voters in Andrews seat express direct anger and vote him out while the ALP win government. Perhaps that is the direction to take.

We didn't hear about this opening today, if not for facebook who would know. MSM is a disgrace

Was there a media event? These kind of places are usually in undisclosed locations for very good reasons.

Let's not discount the possibility that this was the entire media strategy for this announcement. The media are very unlikely to report on something where they are not invited to a launch or an opening. If that makes them a disgrace, than that's what you have called it.

Whats the go with his new promise of nurses or some sort of medical person going to homes so people dont have to wait in line at hopsital....

Im sure the 25 Paramedic Practitioners by 2026 will really ease the burden

Yeah, that would be the best outcome but probably the least likely.

Would voting Dan make any difference to how the party works though.

Most people know my opinions on politicians and my general dislike for all of them, and i keep hearing how Guy would be no better, how do we know he won't based on a mistake he made many years ago, Dan has made plenty, if you treat him to the same standards people are expecting Guy to uphold, then why aren't those who follow Labor pushing for Dan to go.

As it stands it doesn't really matter who gets in, they all treat their constituents with contempt and only really care what they can get out of it, more independents are the go for me to at least try and keep them honest when it comes to passing laws.

I think it’s a sound bite only
There could be pressure via ambulance union for expanded practice to minimise some transfers (is more relevant in country areas due to distance and often burden of arranging discharge transport when there’s no family/ non ambulant patient) And it’s now rare to find a GP who home visits (non existent in northern and northwest suburbs).
However the AV (regular paramedics) can currently contact the statewide virtual ED to discuss the patient with a doctor and the doctor can observe patient via video call, so I’m not clear as to the added benefit of expanded practice. GreyWind can you comment

The ALP is still cleaning out factional problems. But generally, their front bench has competent people doing competent jobs in their portfolios.

For me, the largest issue is skilled employment shortages. Mostly in nursing and teaching, but also in trades. The current Govt being rightly criticised for not fixing it, building hospitals without nurses, kinders without teachers.

But you must have the memory of a goldfish if you can't remember that it is always the Liberal Govts at both state and federal level who deride teaching and nursing. They cut pay to the point that competent people would rather work in a meaningless office job than go to Uni for years, accumulate a great debt and then get paid less than the office job.

It's the Libs who cut vocational training, that strip educational institutions, close them and sell them off.

If you think the Libs are going to launch an all-out-effort to train more teachers and nurses, then you're about as stupid as stupid could be.

The purpose of voting isn't to vote people out. It's to vote for people to make the state Govt better. Right now, making the state Govt better means more trained teachers and nurses. For that, I'd vote ALP.

If Guy, and his team (who are mostly nobodies completely lacking in ability - so much that none are a viable alternative to Guy), announce a new teachers/nursing college (staffed and all) or some incentive like large pay increases for those professions, then I'd vote for them.

Guy announcing more funding to build hospitals is the same mistake Andrews is making.
