Yze starting to be a modern version of Chocko Royal and Peter Sumich

lol thats a bit harsh comparing him to Sumich.

But your right, you can only go for 2-3 head coach jobs before people start thinking "whats wrong with this bloke"

Interesting based on the current situation that Fagan went for a number of jobs before landing at Brisbane.

Not saying it won’t work out for Essendon, he might well be what they need now, who knows, might even win a final. But he’s a stubborn bastard who repeatedly showed an inability to stop opposition momentum, led questionable development of young players, and had a knack of playing his favourites to the detriment of the team.

in other words, most opposition teams are happy with his selection :)

He'd probably be a decent coach, but Essendon need an old head in there that needs the steady the entire ship...the ENTIRE ship. Would be a Rutten situation all over again if they gave the position to an inexperienced head coach.

Scott did well with a pretty mediocre North list with few star players.

Agreed imagine getting a team with Harvey, Wells, Cunnington, Swallow, Dal Santo, Waite, Higgins, Ziebell, Thompson, Tarrant, Petrie, Brown, Thomas to an elimination final.

Agree, the list had a lot of talent and we did play some exciting footy in patches. Tactically he could never go with the best of them, almost a decade coaching and we had the same kick in routine the whole way through lol.

Personally, i think Scott is the best available chance of pulling Essendons own head from it's own ar*e. So on that basis, i'm a bit disappointed he took the job lol.

But in saying that, i still think the odds of current EFC kicking itself in the nuts again are high.

Scott is a good but not great coach, but he brings a gravitas that "might" have a chance at EFC.

The great thing is that the truly unworthy James Hird, got the deserved short shrift. Good riddance.

So Essendon went against their own "process"?

Stinks of higher ups hand picking who they want again.
Mitch Cleary and Tom Browne both reported that the club has been in conversation with Brad for weeks today was his final interview.

The club made him go through the process and both he and the club kept it under wraps

Kudos to Brad and Essendon for not leaking anything
