So happy for Edwards, so well deserved. Pick him for the Aussie squad and rest Teddy for one of the group games!

They have Latrell though. How many fullbacks do you need? Val Holmes will be in the squad too that’s 3 that can play FB

If Teddy goes down with injury you would be a better team playing Edwards and leaving Latrell at centre

Maybe but think it may be better to have Edwards as a travelling reserve rather than in the squad. Not sure they take more than those 3 as FB options. I wouldn’t be against Edwards making it just feel these squads rarely have more than 1 specialist

Actually thought it was a fairly entertaining game. The last 20 minutes or so were pretty lacklustre.

It's the little moments that hurt Parramatta. One example was after half time the Eels first set was a good one, with a good kick. Edwards was tackled on the 10m Line and the Eels give away a pently. Penrith score a minute later.

Couple times the Eels kick chase was lazy.

Everything Penrith did, defence line speed, kick chase, win the ruck, pressure the kickers was spot on.

Fantastic season for the Panthers. Winning what 4 grades or something. Will be there again you would think.

Lesson on how to play the sport, and how to run an organization, but they're also blessed tho having such a massive and talented rugby league juniors program/region.

The Illawarra region in the past used to be the best by far, so many all-time greats of the game were poached from the region.

Look up a list of the greats that came from there, it's amazing.

Don't think most expected him to get named, just hoped.

Mal is also not starting the best player in the game so who knows

Please don’t tell me you are calling Hynes the best player lol, side benefited from a cakewalk draw. Tedesco still there, Mitchell, Grant, etc

N ahCleary, he said he was starting DCE over him

Not that horrible. DCE outplayed him in 2 out of 3 origins and is the incumbent. Would I start Cleary possibly but it’s not a complete howler

Cleary has been better for 3 years, led his team to 3 straight GF's, 2 premierships and we are picking DCE because of 2 Origins? Considering Cleary was also man of the match in the other.

Also didn't name Api either who has been the form hooker of the comp.

Grant has been way better and the QLD rotation won the series. Cook was closer.

Origin tells a story DCE was clearly in front this season. Plays with Munster better too and he allows Munster to be the dominant half. It’s not terrible from Mal.

So Origin is all that matters?

DCE was bog average in the second half of the year, Cleary has literally been better for 3 years now. Bringing up the fact he is the incumbent from 3 years ago was just as ridiculous. Cleary has a much better kicking game, way better defender and his goal kicking is another bonus you could use as a decider if you even needed it.

I would be staggered if you found many NRL fans that actually think Cleary is not a better player than DCE
