Was winning wingman of the year in two comps before injury even over Langford. He was incredible this year and their best finals player.
Was very very good
Carlscum feel like they have won the trade period similar to how we thought we won the draft in 2013 when we got the goat for pick 19
What did we get in return for trading acres again?

He’s not as much of a squib of contests as Hill, but yeah I wouldn’t take that salary on, either he takes a cut or GWS PAY PART, or both. I’d happily pay him around the 600k mark.
This something the AFL has to control , a team offers a star player money that they can't afford , to lock that player at that club - they may be able to handle the coin for one or even 2 stars but not the amount of players they have on these contracts.

This is were you need a professional bean counter who will make practical and conservative calls on contracts.

The big picture is Kelly , Greene , Whitfield , Coniglio are on million dollar contracts taking them well into there 30s - all of them are at the age where injuries can start to be a problem - imagine having 4 million a year not playing for the next 5 years / suppose they will get a few first round picks.

You denigrating Simon Lethlean just shows how poor your judgement is. Except for his indiscretion a few years back, he would be the CEO of the AFL by now.

You are correct that he failed to make our list premiership worthy, but I can see continual work to make the list better. You might think we can transform the list in one trading period, but I’ve not seen that happen since the eighties, which tells me it’s not possible in the draft era.

Your continual bagging of everything the club does or does not do is as idiotic as it is tiring.

Fair drive-by..........

You haven’t been there for all that time but you know about the culture do you?? Essendon - great culture there….really??? How many finals have they won recently??? What respect do they have on the AFL community? Let’s ask Truck or their recent CEO…Jog on BJ, we haven’t been successful but you have no idea what the culture is and to compare us to Essendon negatively…gimme a break.

I hear what you are saying, but whats our package that we are offering?

Good facilities - tick
Melbourne Bayside - tick

What else is the club offering to give incentive for players to come to our club?

The club needs to become creative, like many other clubs are doing.
How are other clubs becoming creative? Honest question.

Where we place ourselves on the "ladder of lifestyle options".

What I am portraying is the club needs to make playing and life in the SE suburbs of Melbourne more attractive. It's becoming completely obvious to everyone that throwing a huge amount of money at players is not working.

Junction oval & MCG, thanks for coming.

Has anyone actually got upset?

We've been irrelevant ever since 2010 except for a brief blip in 2020 (we didn't even make a prelim).

We might have potential, but we have certainly been irrelevant.
We’d have had a chance at a prelim in 2020 if we had not of lost Long, Paddy and Carlisle. Oh the irony of this post season….

I don’t see any success here, one premiership ,rebuild after rebuild, maybe, just maybe, Gringo should get in there and rattle the cage, because doing what we are doing right now is not achieving anything near good enough.
Just on Leatlean ,he is very quiet ,but let’s not forget it was under his watch we signed Hannerbury and Hill ,and now he us the chief .
Be careful what you wish for.

Not great when he says he sees himself as an Essendon man now rather than a St Kilda man but that seems to be more due to him being there more recently and knowing more people there rather than them having a better culture. Our culture might not be great but it's surely better than Essendon's.

See this kind of shit really grinds the gears. Culture is driven by players.
Case in point Geelong. They have past players willing and wanting to give back to the club and further that building of 'culture'.
How many of our past players want to do that?

This isn't a dig at you Stav. I just find that so many of our past players instead of wanting to help, and BJ is different as he went to the Don's, want to snipe from the sidelines. Was the culture all that good when they were here? Or was it that we were winning everything was roses and things that should have been done didn't.
And if it was that good. Did they do anything to instill that culture in the players that came through the door.
