So whose the consensus to select at pick 23? How far could Phillipou slide ? Could we try to get back into the early teens and grab him if that happens?
In and around that 23 pick or possible late teens if we move up a tad

SA- Barnett (Ruck/KPP 202cm 93kg)
Keeler (FWD/Ruck 199cm 88kg)
Maigor (MID/FWD185cm 79kg)
Dowling (MID 187cm 79kg)

Vic country- Szybkowski (MID 186cm 84kg)
George (FWD/MID 186cm 87kg)
Burgiel (MID/DEF 183cm 76kg)

Vic Metro- Hayes (KPD 197cm 81kg)
Weddle (DEF 193cm 82kg)

Tas- Cowan (MID 188cm 81kg)

Cadman locked into GWS it seems. In that case, reckon NM would be mad not to go with Sheezel with one of their picks

Wardlaw and Sheezel would put them in a good spot
Cadman would be loving life. Spends a maximum of two years at the Giants and then goes to a Richmond, Geelong or Collingwood.

Reckon Cadman would be more of a chance to stick it out, not being from Metro or Geelong

If he didn’t, surely it would almost break the Giants hah
2 years??…

jhf has just set the new benchmark..

players will now demand to be traded after their first year from now on..

GWS and GC will be screwed.

OK we have 23 & 46..Draft scribes lets have at it..who are our best and most likely bets for these picks
Have to take keeler if he is there at 23.. but I doubt he is.. lot of teams looking light on for KPF’s and the lad has serious talent even if he has had a bit of an ordinary year.. reacon someone will take a punt on him earlier than 23.

if so.. we should just pick the best mid available at 23 and hope the bid for MM comes in the early 30’s..

Screams Essendon to me unfortunately pick 22

Keeler’s a funny one. A heck of a talent, but I reckon he’s more a forward than anything. If we think RT is a forward, how do we fit all three + Welsh in a couple of years? If we go tall at 23, I think it’s more likely to be Barnett (though I have Keeler a good bit higher on my personal board)

Then again, you can just draft who you consider the most talented guy on the board and make it work

Keeler will be there at 23 I reckon

I’d take him over Barnett there

Prefer one of the mids though although they might be a touch out of reach if we can’t push up a little

Phillipou hollands Burgiel in that order of preference before the next bracket

We’d have to play TT and Keeler as ruck/ forwards

I’m concerned re Keeler’s competitiveness to be a true key forward

Talent is undoubted

Got a feeling he gets drafted elsewhere in the early 30s but could be wrong

The pure athleticism and skill is obviously there. Physicality is something that I am happy to give him a bit of the benefit of the doubt on, given he’s still got to put on some size (in contrast to a Schache type, who was already decently built but had competitiveness issues)

The RT/Keeler 50/50 ruck/forward tandem could well work, though. Would give us some flexibility to add an athletic 3rd tall/medium forward to the mix, as well

Yeah I'm intrigued how far phillipou can slide and whether we would have any interest to trade up if he falls in the teens.
He must have looked at us and port back a while and thought - ahh both sides have high picks inside top 10 so I should land at one of the clubs in SA. Then he sees us tap up Rankine and then this with port and like a puff of smoke..its gone..the ups and downs I suppose

The reason I mention ruck tandem too is that interchange is likely to be 5 next season

Reckon Ruck / forward tandems will be in vogue

Rucks like ROB will struggle

You think? - didn't they grab a couple of talls in the first round the year we took Thilthorpe & Pedlar - Cox and someone else whose name I forget. Then they have another guy they took the year before as a promising tall. But who knows
Nik Cox 200cm wingman

Zach Reid 202cm KPD

Jones was the other one I was thinking of - a tall forward
You do realise Keeler likely won't play much AFL footy for a couple of years if at all?

He's a fair way off handling the extra pressure at AFL level at this time to my eye.

couple of things I like from what I seen.
1) gets to the right position and quickly
2) good below knees for that size
what I dont like
1) drops easy marks
2) seems to get pushed over very easily considering his height (clearly learning how to play afc style in the academy)
