Probably so far. I'm saying that should be an expectation. We are the only club that gets an Allison with our first pick and it's just normal recruiting for us. Hopefully that was what got Libba the arse.
Yes really bad, same with getting Owens at 27 and Windhager at 39. :drunk::drunk:

Allison looks like a shocking selection but really it seems to happen all the time. He was pick 29, look at all the top ten picks on the move this trade period that didn't make it. Paddy Dow was pick 4 wasn't he?

Last year's draft looks like our best in years but we need to back it up and start doing it consistently.

1 hour and the truth be known. Will it be a top 5 pick or do we keep a talented duel sided top ten. Intriguing.
Or option 3:

get completely bent over and end up looking like George after Dard Ball Get is done

Bytel isn't leaving, set to sign one year contract.

Geez we've been good at valuing our offers to fringe players.

Him, seb ross, dunstan, carlisle etc etc etc.

We've been pressured by a lot of fringe players over the last few years to stump up extra years and/or money with the implied (or actual) threat of them 'testing their market worth'.

Long is pretty much the only exception- but that was to a desperate gold coast offering insane contract length of 4 years.
(Dunstan left, but his market testing resulted in the market declaring him worthless.)

We've done a lot of things poorly the last few years- but holding firm on not throwing larger than deserved contracts at fringe players is a rare bright spot.

Next years first plus norths
For Ben king end of 2023
Will have a year left

U know it’s happening

I actually meant going for drinks, not getting bummed. But I see how badly that was worded. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

We got them like shooting fish in a barrel. They fell in our laps, If we did that every year there would be nothing to complain about. Nas is the one proper pick we had and he wants out by all reports.

Perfect. Who knows where he’ll be by the end of next season, but I wouldn’t put it past him to break into the 22 if he stays healthy and continues to be best on at Sandy.

I still wan't Gresham to spend most of his time forward, but he's always one of our main clearance players/ball winners.
If Bytel can do a share of the grunt work ( along with Crouch and Steele ) that can make it happen.

I don't care what others do. We have had a decade in the wilderness. We can't afford more mistakes because we have to make up ground. That last draft is what other clubs get consistently. It shouldn't be celebrated, it should be expected.

Wonder what the recruiters are thinking. Probably have half the deals done already and just sitting around now waiting lol. Enthralling.

I like your reasoning, but is Bytel a bit same-samey as Steele/Crouch/Ross.
Gresh adds a real point of difference to the midfield. Maybe Hunter Clark can free Gresham to the forward line?

How many good players came from the first round 2020?

It was really bad timing for Bytel going down when there was a spot open with Steele out. Late in the year we probably should have shoved games into him late just to have look at him instead of letting Sydney chair their champion off.

Please explain to me how the RUMOUR of a player being homesick and potentially wanting out has anything to do the quality of the player we selected? Are you saying he was not the best pick? If not, if we had picked someone else in case NAS got homesick, and we watched him play like that for someone else all this season, would you still be pissing and moaning that our recruiters got it wrong, and we should have taken him? Tough gig, no matter what they do they are wrong....

Overlooking Poulter was a massive error

We come from a long line of bumming, remember that.
I can only speak for myself.

But my butt has only ever been in the waste management game.

Never been used as a playground.

So maybe I need one of those ancestry DNA tests
