I really feel sorry for St Kilda supporters. I know people on here may think I'm cynical. But I truly believe in a competition where every team, every week has a chance of winning. Every teams supporters deserve equal hope every season. I would not wish a St Kilda wife on any of my mates.
If Gil goes, our saintly Harley gets the nod and does an AFL wide review and reforms things, and makes things even, and does sensible ethical things, it will be better. Maybe. I Dunno. Sometimes what you wish for is worse. Who knows.

A name that should be in the mix for the St Kilda job but I really hope that isn't is Don Pyke.

He rejected the Essendon gig understandably but purely from a talent perspective I'd much rather go to the Bombers than the Saints.

To be honest I never felt Ratten was the right choice, but history has shown you need to give your coaches a good time to turn things around.

Which makes the Suns even more of an issue. The GC has been a real vacuum for Australian professional sport.

They were given nothing compared to GWS at the start , it will take some more time to get it right and they aren't going anywhere in the future .
Having said that i always thought Southport should have got the licence , but then the AFL wanted Norf to go up there .

I reckon if Southport were given the licence originally it would have fast tracked their success.

I agree with Kickthething though, all major sports who have tried to establish teams there have largely failed.

I hold out hope for GCS though. If I had a second team they would be it.

The past is the past and I totally agree the opportunity was overlooked at the time. Looking forward it would still be possible to bring Southport into the mix. I reckon that gives the GC a real sense of being…..the GC is seen as a transit not a destination in every code. That change tonSouthport,nas semanticalas it may be, gives the club a long historical link (see, you can buy history!!) and connection. People will say it can’t be done, I would challenge it and find the way it can be, I think it is a great goal for the club to have and move forward with a real identity.

And bored first 3 weeks of cricket washed out , but could be alot worse with people losing lives and homes to floods .
