Opinion Who do you realistically want in the 2022 AFL Draft?

At pick 5 I’m praying for Wardlaw. If not, I’d be very happy with Humphrey.

I really hope we get Konstanty with our second pick.

Tsatsis looks good at 4. But I like a few inside 20. So would love to trade our 2023 first for West Coasts 8 and 12 this year.

Lewis Hayes for your mob
Rumour or guess?

I like Lewis but I'm worried that he doesn't have the high ceiling of others at our first pick. He should be a solid AFL player all going well.

Jefferson and George are the players potentially available at pick 16/17 that I believe could be A grade in future.

At Essendons pick I had the top 4 live picks rated:

Wardlaw > Sheezel > Cadman > Tsatas for us. So really just hoping for Wardlaw or Sheezel.

Otherwise I'm super keen on Phillipou and wouldn't hate trading back for him.

"Rapt that X made it to our pick Y, we rated him at Z picks higher and have been watching him since birth"

Reminds me of this from Jake Niall years ago

"Outside player with good pace'' - a receiver, won't go in.

"He's a real athlete'' - played mostly basketball or soccer. No idea about footy.

"Quick hands/great vision/has footy smarts'' - slow.

"We can't believe we got him at pick 42'' - We haven't seen the X-rays or spoken to his parole officer.

"He's an elusive type'' - absolutely terrified.

"Great goal sense'' - never handballed in his life.

"He's a burst player'' - has only one burst, no endurance.

"Has skills, needs to work on his fitness'' - will be a blimp before the season's end.

"He has a great upside'' - he has even greater downside.

"Tremendous work ethic and a great competitor'' - no skills.

"Solid citizen, from a good family'' - private schoolboy.

"Natural forward'' - never tackled, shepherded or manned up.

"Raking left-foot kick'' - a dud on his right.

"Suited to a tagging role'' - can't play.

"He will add to our depth'' - can't play.

"He's a bit of a punt, but we needed a third ruckman'' - can't play.

Freo are sitting out the first couple of rounds, but we need a small forward (Darcy Jones?) and a project ruck (Jackson Broadbent?). Unlikely we get a ready to go KPP with our first pick in the 30's, but it'd be nice.
