According to one ClarkeM , no one reads the OP. Good, that means I can just rant and say stuff about anyone and I won’t get in trouble. This week is Round 13 but with the added twist that it’s also the last round of Season 34. That means that only a handful of people care about the result this Sunday, because else has other missed finals or they don’t who they go up against as long as they get to fight someone and make them cry. Luckily with it being the last round, it’s the easiest time of the year to do that.
Now, we’ve had some good statistical analysis so far this season. Ljp86 and Broken informs us who has made finals, who can’t and what teams need to do to reach either outcome, while DenieD gives us a rough outline of what the chances of a team finishing somewhere on the ladder. That got me thinking though; wouldn’t the average person reading these posts want the actual numbers, the actual chance out of 100 of such things happening? Well, person who is better than ClarkeM because they are still reading this, let’s have a look at some pretty graphs and see what can be done, not just what could be done.
Simple equation right there. If the Demons win they get a double chance and the Warriors get a spoon. If the Warriors win, they might not finish last and the Demons get a home final. Pretty cut and dry there.
Of course, form could play a part in all this. Take the Demons or Warriors. The Warriors have won just 1 game in their last 5 games while the Demons broke a 5-game losing streak last round. Someone’s fortunes will have to change this weekend, bar the 1.06% chance of a draw. Not to mention, the last time these 2 teams played against each other, the Warriors compiled a 10 goal to 3 last quarter to get the victory. What does it matter what happened last season to this one? ¯\(ツ)/¯
But you know what does matter? Having people to talk to while you wait for the inevitable qooty result to happen because sometimes it can lonely if you’re in a match thread by yourself. It’s the end of the home and away season, some already know they won’t be playing during finals, maybe you’ve already checked out mid-season and counting down the days until you play games on the other side of Sweet. Let’s get to know the opposition.
What can you say about Tonga Bob that serial_thrilla hasn’t muttered under his breath every time he checks the Player Compare on Sweetfa.plus? Consistently in the beez votes every season, Bob is probably in the Top 5 most famous Tongans to currently exist, alongside Pita Taufatofua, Sonatane Takulua, Jason Taumalolo, and Scott Edwards.
Another that likes to be among the beez votes is TheInjuryFactory. While Bob has done a lot in the SFA, TIF has somehow done more and still doesn’t have life membership with the league or the team. While TheInjuryFactory keeps the things he learnt down to a basic 3 on a Sunday or Monday, he’ll let you know a lot more during the week; especially if you’re a terrible poster.
Makes you wonder if this is how it’s been in the SFA league the entire. Makes you wonder if there have been people who have seen the place grow and flourish and stagnate the entire time. Makes you wonder how they could’ve done this without a head. It really makes you think. It makes Headless really think. What does the next person think?
Manangatang certainly like to think, even when taking walks though Sweet with Headless. Manangatang even once tried to be the Admin once, in what was the biggest dodged bullet in his qooty career. The one-time coach of Qold Coast the very proud of the fact that while he’s been at the Demons, they haven’t been like the Wonders, if only everyone aspired to this.
This should be the part where I say who I think will win, but I am biased and superstitious and let’s be honest, as if I have to tell you the obvious. I just wanna spend a week with Headless, should be fun.
Also Captains, teamsheets to be in by 11:59pm AEDT (11:29pm ACDT, 8:59pm AWST, don't bother asking for Brisbane time).
