As long as AFLW footballers continue to attract more sponsorship and promotional opportunities than your average community footy beer gut - that's all that really matters.
I expect that to remain the case for a while yet.

Brisbane are arguably the only decent team to watch in AFLW, I think their team is made up of 90 percent Queenslanders too. It's a good sign as to the traction that women's footy is having in Queensland, gold coast almost made finals too. If you had a state game, interestingly, you'd play Victoria v Queensland.

1,302 true Fremantle supporters were rewarded with a ripper of a match today, as the home team closed out an otherwise miserable season via a 5-point win against Hawthorn.

Brisbane's best 21 is 75% from Queensland (so just slightly off, as opposed to the wildly inaccurate claims in the rest of that post). GC would be a bottom 2 team without players from Victoria.

There's much more talent from WA in AFLW than what comes from either QLD or SA, but it's also much more spread out across the country. If you wanted a state game that was actually competitive, it wouldn't involve Victoria.

Qld has had a strong womens footy program for a good decade now.
Qld's strength underscores the importance of womens footy.

Cora Staunton will turn out today for 50th consecutive AFLW game.
It's a great achievement, and hopefullly will help attract more Irish footballers to the AFLW.

If each AFLW team had two Irish girls playing week in week out, maybe, but even then, I would still expect the best of all the 18 teams to give them a bit of a touch up.
