So you reckon taking out the All-Australian Ruckman helps our clearances?I wonder who could possibly come into that mix to help with our clearances.

You did suggest changing the personnel, should we take the All-Australian midfielders out instead? What is your actual point? So you reckon taking out the All-Australian Ruckman helps our clearances?
you said sarcastically 'I wonder who could possibly make a difference'. alluding to Grundy being the obvious solution. I don't care who is in there but they need to sort that out. I would suggest that 1 or 2 of Oliver, Viney or Petracca need to be out of the centre square. If they can't win clearance over a 6 month sample size then they haven't earned the right to be given the centre clearance privileges. I would suggest Oliver stays and Viney and Petracca go out. And bring in some different faces. You did suggest changing the personnel, should we take the All-Australian midfielders out instead? What is your actual point?
Gawn gets sharked a tonne and Grundy gives us an extra midfielder after the ball up. Regardless, having both makes us harder for the opposition to prepare for. I agree that the balance is off, what were really missing is an outside receiver.you said sarcastically 'I wonder who could possibly make a difference'. alluding to Grundy being the obvious solution. Gawn getting sharked has been going on for at least 2 seasons . We did nothing about it !!Gawn gets sharked a tonne and Grundy gives us an extra midfielder after the ball up. agree re: Gawn. Yeah, we'll be hard to prepare for but only if Grundy or Gawn is actually being damage up forward. Otherwise, they can just put any on them and we'll get rebounded against all season long. Simon Goodwin needs to wake up and get his stuff sorted. It seems like he liked the 2 rucks set up because he's doubling down on the slow, long and high ball movement to the pockets. I hope I'm wrong.Gawn gets sharked a tonne and Grundy gives us an extra midfielder after the ball up. Regardless, having both makes us harder for the opposition to prepare for. Would be surprised if he didn't get an AFL gig somewhere. Would be a great acquisition to our Casey side though. Not sure how many positions are out there this time of year, but he'd be snapped up at AFL level you'd reckon?Casey have a coach yet? How about Ratten?
Can see him easily going to a team as an assistant, or some invented 'director of coaching' type role. Has plenty of experience across several clubs. Think he'd offer a lotWould be surprised if he didn't get an AFL gig somewhere. Would be a great acquisition to our Casey side though. Yeah not Choco everything I see him in he is inspirational. I think the existing coaching group already have formed great relationships with the players, which I think is Rattens great strength. Hopefully someone somewhere can fit him in.Stability is a good thing, however a Ratten would have been handy, but I suspect we are at our limit with the cap and would have to squeeze out Yze or Choco to get a Ratten type in the box.

Just out of curiosity. What do you see in Ratten?Stability is a good thing, however a Ratten would have been handy, but I suspect we are at our limit with the cap and would have to squeeze out Yze or Choco to get a Ratten type in the box.
Why does he look like Dave Franco?
3 premierships as a midfield coach. When he coached our midfield group in 2004 it was the best our midfield looked for a long time. Maybe he's better as an assistant coach than a senior coach? Decent job at Carlton, possibly unfairly let go there, and yes struggled a little at the saints, but the list is poor. But again, maybe he's a better assistant than senior coach? Plus he's been captain of a club, won a premiership, 2x All Australian midfielder. Plenty of reasons he'll be a great midfield coach. fantastic resume. moving Yze to forward coach and Ratts as mid coach would be an option that could pay off big. IMO of course.Just out of curiosity. What do you see in Ratten?
fair call. When I heard that StKilda were chasing De Goey it really made me question who was making those sort of decisions. And no doubt, Ratten would've been a big player in that. De Goey is just about the last player StKilda would need. Same thing when they picked up Hannebery and Bradley Hill.3 premierships as a midfield coach. I think Saints need a DeGoey. In fact every team needs a DeGoey. Risky with his off field behaviour, but he's a jet on the field. Saints were invisible this offseason. Clearly something was going on behind the scenes but their list improves significantly with DeGoey on their list. Their mids are more than capable of getting the footy however struggle to hit the scoreboard. Having a mid who can kick multiple goals and win his won ball would improve them by 3-4 goals a game IMO. Yes, a risk, but IMO they should have chased harder knowing they weren't doing anything else this offseason.fair call.
