Prediction 2022 Phantom Drafts

A lot of maybe the Afl did this, maybe that, could have, should have. Not a single sentence about him taking responsibility for his own actions. One strike policy for inflicting violence on a woman. What, are you suggesting there should be two strike, three strike policy. The man has shown to be a terrible human, who it appears does not have ability to learn or to adjust his behavior. It is not the Swan's responsibility to make him an agreeable human. That was primarily parental responsibility and once of age it is his own responsibility.

And as I posted. Times have changed.

It’s definitely controversial among Dogs fans but I’d be on board with Hayes at 12. I don’t necessarily believe in “objective best available no matter what” because outside of maybe pick 1 and 2 I don’t think there’s an objective best available. Best available for the Dogs specifically could easily be Hayes.

What's your proposed Ess-Coll trade?

The top 4 this year are pretty obvious IMO

1. Cadman (GWS)
2. Ashcroft (Lions - North bid matched)
3. Sheezel (North)
4. Wardlaw (North)

Then things get interesting:

5. Humphrey (Essendon) A point of difference the Dons need
6. Ginbey (GC) - Suns have quality, they need bigger, quicker and harder mids / half backs. WA kids seem to stay.
7. J. Clark (Hawks) - exact type Sam Mitchel loves. Won't pass on the next J Selwood.
8. Busslinger (Geelong) - Looking to firm up their tall defenders, can play forward
9. Tsatas (WC) - the first surprise slider of the draft the Eagles just can't ignore
10. McKenzie (Saints) - would like him at the Eagles, quality balanced mid
11. E Allen (Carlton) - Blues are well stocked but they could improve their wings.
12. Hollands (Bulldogs) - Quality running utility mid, Dogs love them and have lost a couple
13. E. Hewett (WC) - fits an obvious need, local talent a bonus. Could slide further though.
14. Jefferson (Melbourne) - lost two talls so looking for the future without Brown and co.
15. M Phillapou (Sydney) - need to address the lack of bigger mids that was shown up in the GF. Questions on Phillapou's maturity but he's 17 and the Bloods will get the most out of this guy
16. Hotton (GWS) - fits a need and a nice player with elite traits

That is the next group of quality done now the rest is much, much harder to call

17. Davey Jr (Essendon - Collingwood bid matched)
18. J. Fletcher (Lions - Collingwood bid matched)
19. Keeler (Collingwood) - lost Grundy and still looking for key forward support
20. Hustwaite (Sydney) - a bet each way, big mid or 3rd tall intercept defender
21. L Hayes (GWS) - quality KP defender for the future
22. Konstanty (GWS) - Vic Country small pressure forward to replace Hill and rove to Cadman
23. B. George (WC) - the 2nd slider the Eagles simply can't ignore. Knee injury a concern but not the talent.
24. Barnett (Bulldogs) - English hitting FA end of 2024 and the Eagles with cash to splash
25. Gruzewski (North) - a quality taller defender / forward to build with(North)
26. Cowan (Hawks) - a quality, tough running defender, Tassie link see's him slide a bit
27. Weddle (Collingwood) - Howe replacement for 3rd tall running defender
28. Michellaney (Adelaide - WC bid)
29. Clarke (WC) - A high energy, effective HFFer who kicks goals, good pace. Cripps replacement. (WC)
30. Rowston (Saints)

Edit: And then you look who hasnt been selected yet.

Burgeil, D Jones, D'Aloia, both Ryan's from SA, Szybkowski.

We won't pass on Tsatas and half our list is already made up of rebounding defenders.

Considering who is still available in your Phantom I'd be expecting us to take Tsatas and Clarke at those picks.

Has he ever shown that he can do it? He’s a rebounder.
His shown enough defensive intent for me to take him above others that are available in that spot, however I think you're right that he has never actually been asked to specifically lockdown a forward atleast not that I've seen.

Yeah. Drafting another attacking half back with the expectation thst he’ll become a different player just feels very wasteful to me.

Asked how appealing the prospect of representing his state at AFL level is, Cowan said: “Down the track, that‘d be unreal to go back home and play for Tassie. I’ve played for Tassie since Under 12s all the way up until NAB League in my draft year. It’d be awesome.“

Doesn’t help matters

I'd be staggered if we passed on Tsatas.

Depends what sort of mid they want. They have a few to pick from.

Tsatas queries from posters I rate mention lack of hurt factor and how his inside game will translate against bigger bodies. He is fast and gets plenty of it. If he improved his disposal and gained more meters he could be elite.

Clark I read the Hawks really rate. A tough balanced mid with leadership in spades. A Selwood type mid.

Which one wins flags? Both but a tough call.

Clarke does make sense.:thumbsu:

Obviously I was hoping he slid to our pick;).

Cowan is a hard read. The kid has potential but the Tassie go home factor is 100% real.

He could slide into the 30's before a club takes the risk.

All of Essendon's Christmas's coming at once

I'm guessing St Kilda would have to give up their future first to move up the draft 5 spots?

Anything else involved?

Probably our F3

Talk about getting reamed
If you're keen on Tsatas, which from what I understand you are, you'll have to pay up. It's that simple.
