So our decision makers at the club are even worse than we thought?? Given Worrell probably played SANFL that week.

I have no problem if Dood is made captain but I don't think it is such an easy decision given Dawson's arrival and impact.

Our willingness to play injured experienced players and run them into the ground is unchanged.

At this point i'd be happy to read just about any rumour. Schoenberg likes watching The Office reruns, Worrell is considering getting a Mr T inspired haircut, Rachele is cutting all italian food out over Summer....

Can’t have Doedee as sole captain with big FA/contract questions hanging over his head. He’ll have to do a lot of media, and will constantly be asked contract questions, and the captain needs to be above those kinds of distractions. I’m very skeptical of the value of “leadership” among footy players, but one thing I think we can all agree on is that there must be no doubt about about a leader’s commitment to the cause.

I just want to enjoy the peace and quiet and lack of scandals.

2017 - lost grand final / Camp.
2018 - Camp / Player Exodus
2019 - Full review - sackings everywhere
2020 - First Wooden Spoon further player drama (Stengle/Crouch).
2021 - Tex and his racism awareness.

The only thing I want for the next 3 and a half months are puff pieces on how we are fitter, faster, stronger and how much Rankine loves being home.

I predicted this would happen during the season when it was obvious we were stupidly playing an injured Doedee despite having Worrell raring to go in the sanfl.

Doedee is a very good player when fit.

The problem is that he isn't fit very often.

I have no problem if Dood is made captain but I don't think it is such an easy decision given Dawson's arrival and impact.

Exactly it’s close to 50/50 but only those close to the action would know for sure

The obvious thing is sloane shouldn’t be captain because he’s no guarantee to be out there

Dawson is only a HBF because Nicks is a bit silly. He should be wing.

And you are taking the piss if you are comparing Dawson to VB.

I am hopeful we get a new coach. Not asserting it as truth. My hope would be to get a clean slate of a new coach and captain to lead our charge up the ladder beginning in 2024.

I am also not overly enamored by Dawson and Doedee as Captain - despite the fact they are widely considered to be the best 2 choices on our list. They just seem the safe and bland decision.

I would prefer Dawson to Doedee, but its just not exciting to me. To be honest, I am not gonna lose any sleep over it - just would prefer we go something a little riskier in 12 months time.

I did hear that Rachele is insanely strong. Apparently lifts weights that guys who have been at the club for many years struggle to get near.
Very explosive in his strength.

Doedees durability is a concern and Dawson is more likely to put the team on his back and get them over the line.

This is a myth. An ACL and a shoulder reco. These aren't durability issues.

The issue is he hasn't hit the heights he hit in his breakout season of 2018. For those that remember how good he was in 2018 - it means that 2019/2020/2021/2022 just don't cut the mustard.

Seems a bit unfair to say you’d like to see something and at the same time there’s no one on our list yiu think fits the bill for it

Really the only left field risky options I can see are a Thilthorpe, berry, soligo type but that’s not Tex type risk that’s Grimes Trengove stuff

How could 2019 have possibly cut the mustard when he missed basically the entire season with an ACL?
