Who gets Pavlich and Tarrant?

Lets face it, traverling to Subi before the week long break the Tiges aren't going to risk Brown and probably not Simmo (although its against his old side). So it looks like we're going to loose if not pumped.

I would like to see Wallace do a few things different this week.
- Bring McGuane in to play on Tarrant, if not play Thursty on him
- Not have Polak looseman, he does the job well, but i would like to see him match up on Pavlich
- Joel Bowden play a decent portion of the game inside 50 or on the HHF
- Give all the important midfield positions to the kids, put Johnson and Tivendale onto the wings or flanks
- Play Richo at full foward and Huges at true center half foward pushing up the ground
- Drop Kingsley and play Schultz in the pocket
- Give more game time to Jackson, Huges, White, Polo and Edwards, and if Edwards doesn't play and Meyer or Oakley Nicholls is there replacement play them on the wings

We will loose. So why not try a few things out?

i'd have thursfield on tarrant, mcguane on pav and keep polak loose or filling the hole. he's been doin that almost to perfection for a few weeks.
i like having richo in the square and hughes out at CHF.
rest johnson or somethin like that. keep tiv in there and rotate the youngsters through the midfield for the match.

i think thursty will take pav but he will have polak there to help out and drop in-front of pavs leads.

im looking forward to this game, we should have won there last year and i believe that freo aren't as good as thier list suggests. they're playing poorly at the moment and i think we have a really good chance of knocking them off.

Tarrant is way to quick off the lead and would be way to strong for thirsty, i think polak needs to take him. and bowden needs to take pav. i would love to see them both let loose and roaming but i just cant see moore/thirsty/mcguane or any of our othe backmen being a good matchup for these two. we need polak and bowden to take the job and hope that raines,king, etc can provide PLENTY of drive........FORWARD(looking at you #17)

You would lose too much drive from defence if that happened.Tarrant pushes a fair way up outside the 50m... I dont know your defence too well but Bowden is better suited to playing loose as sort of a quarter back role setting up the play.

How many times would he have done that at Subiaco? It will be interesting to see how different it is on the big wide expanses that suit a running marking forward. Tarrant's move over here suits his game to perfection where he is asked to continually lead up out of the 50 as a conduit to the forward line, rather than as a genuine goal kicking forward, which exposes his accuracy issues.

I really can't see Wallace having the courage to play Polak on Pavlich. Apart from the obvious difference in class Pavlich can simply take him to the goalsquare where Polak would be required to keep up with him on a lead rather than drift across in front of him. Fully expect Pavlich to be double teamed with Polak once again not asked to actually beat an opponent one on one, but to be third man up.

Out on a limb here but I'd like to see JON played on Tarrant. Think he is an ideal match for that. Has the motor the pace and the skills overhead. He will be too quick for Polak and too much stamina for Bowden. Barring that McGuane woudl be next best for me. Thursty doesnt have the tricks yet, got lost a lot last week. Pav is a huge worry. Watching Polak get pushed out of a marking contest by Patful I would have to question is suitability for Pavlich with his strength. Might be a good ex-local derby play though if Polak has a point to prove.

Polak to Pavlich, Height, muscle weight pace pretty much spot on, polak also reads the ball well
Bowden to mcPharlin when he goes foward, bowden to run off him.
McGuane to Tarrant or maybe give thursfield first crack as hes likely to be a key future backmen.
another option is start bowden on pavlich as pav these days plays deep in attack and thats where bowden looks most comfortable and polak loose man whith thursfield on tarrant
