Anyone know how many rookie list spots we have open?
None for the rookie draft. Only pick is committed to Williams. Barkla will come in as a Category B rookie. We have another vacant spot for cat B but I don't think we can fill it this rookie draft.

Well, we've gone a couple of project talls - can't complain.

The first thing Scully and Marshall need to see when they get to Alberton is food.
They need to hang out with me for a couple months but unfortunately they'd walk back into the club at 140kg

Overall, pretty happy with Port’s off-season.

JHF and Junior are best 22, for the cost of Amon (who I think Port have the depth to cover)

Concerned about the lack of ready-reserve KPDs…. Hopefully Pasini comes back strong. The combination of Marshall and McCallum could be the mainstay of Ports back six in a few years.

But the first Test starts tomorrow… so it’s officially cricket season now (my poor wife….).

Look I can't stand Hinkley either but it's very possible for us to bounce back into finals next year the comp isn't that deep & I'd rather not go in with an undersized defence.
Be positive and support the players; we will play finals next year, maybe even top four.
Ken needs to win a Prelim to keep his job.

McCallum will play games next year. The other two unlikely, but McCallum is potentially ready to go

I look forward to all three of tonight's draftees being frustratingly overlooked for countless years in favour of talentless, state-level hobbits, before all of their development is undone as they are thrown into foreign positions on the ground, resulting in a one-way ticket to the Hinkley-era graveyard of wasted tall talent.

Otherwise, I can't complain.

Well, they buried the lead a little bit grabbing McCallum first. Fairly happy with all that. Mayyybeeee would have liked an inside mid type, but if the guys we have continue to improve it's not an immediate need quite yet.

Scully’s highlights show a good mark, both on the lead and in the contest. Nice kick for goal. Looks like he gets a few from the groundball too.

Truly amazing. I've watched him since he was a 9 year old as he played with my son. First couple of years he couldn't mark to save his life, but was always great at getting the ground ball. Played like a small even when being a giant amongst the other kids. Lost track of him when he started playing for westies. Big Port fan. Good to hear he ironed out the marking..

Right, who we picking up tomorrow?

I wouldn't mind D'Aloia

I think we're done. We have 37 on the main list and 4 rookies. We're going to redraft Williams on the rookie list and that takes us to the maximum 42.

Barkla automatically goes to the Cat B list.

I reckon it’s a nice little bonus when you draft kids who loved the place before

Todd, Mitch, finlayson

With

Lord, Scully, teakle and Dante is as good depth in talls that can go forward as I’ve ever seen this club have.

Our key defense of the future is still really up in the air, but adding McCallum and Marshall to pasini looks so much better than it did yesterday.
