Rookie upgrades were due to happen in the hour after the draft finished, but haven't seen any mention of it happening.
AFL continue to frustrate with some of these simpler things. They brought back the Draft Tracker, which was great (why it disappeared in the first place...), but trying to find out details of the trades that happened mid-draft was an exercise in frustration. Similar with this.

Also, in the lead up to the draft, they'd release a new video each day on a draft prospect. Great, but clearly they had more videos available, and released a bunch as players were drafted. Why not give us a look at them all beforehand?

Whinge over.

Same. Nothing against the kid just thought we could do with a Hotton type moreso given list and other picks 🤷🏻‍♂️
I think we would have had both of them had Cowan been off the board.
Watching us last season I thought our greatest weakness was changing the course and momentum late in games,
Binns does this and does this well, Hotton not so much.

How hard is it?

The coverage is improving but remains at an amateur level.

The club isn't without fault here, it's a disgrace that Ed was delisted and we only found out about it because someone found his name on the list of draft nominees - and was only confirmed in passing last night by Nick Austin when asked about it in an interview.

Absolutely.

Watching Austins trade wrap up I couldn't feel he was a little dissappinted at the very end when talking about Ed being rookied.

Maybe he wanted to take 1 more player he had his eyes on?

So keener draft watchers, how did we go? Were our picks good value or did we reach a little to try and fit needs?

Cowan to me seems a bit of a bargain, however how do the rest stack up?

Continue to be impressed with Austin’s work.
He’s rounding out the list beautifully.
Hollands was the man for Carlton at the pick.
When the whips are cracking, Voss won’t have to look far for this bloke to be involved with his partner in crime Walsh who both ooze that much desired inner drive.
The Cowan business was really well played by Austin and the team ( F1 stays in the bank).
A very astute selection, Cowan will be primed to replace Docherty when the times right and will offer the team plenty.
The Lemmey selection was again right on cue.
In a position of need with huge potential, he will be afforded the time necessary and importantly, will derive enormous benefit from the club’s beefed up development team.
The call from the outset was run run and run from this intake.
Binns offers this in spades and whilst some may have had differing preferences, Austin and his team ultimately delivered on the Blueprint.
FoxFooty draft expert Mick Ablett who operates across this field for a living, rated Carlton the “big winners” of the draft, no small feat with the modest hand dealt to work with …

Linton St Rabble a big Melbourne Club, big crowds.

Since when!

Apparently he turned a few clubs off. I am happy he was gone one pick before ours.

I find it more efficient this way.
No need to waste time watching highlights of players that don't end up in Navy Blue.

think it’s a backward step giving Ed a rookie spot…
his best is well truly behind him…doubt very much he will get a senior game. if the reason of keeping him is because of service offer him captaincy of the two’s.
I think it is a good move. Ed can play when needed, an on field 'coach' in the VFL, provides invaluable experience, and probably most importantly keeps his brother on track and happy.

we s**t it in....

Hasty response..

Im not putting my trust in the dozen or so CFC football professionals who's job it is to follow, watch, critique and analyse probably over 100 junior/state league footballers over a 2 year period, when I read some of the negative reactions from our professional armchair analysts.
