If they miss the 8.

He won’t get sacked, but he should.

Clarkson would have had them playing finals in 2022.

Clarkson would have had them contending for a flag in 2023.

That should be the comparison and also the expectation.
How do you know that, Clarkson couldn't get Hawthorn into the finals.

Carlton have some great top line players but still lack decent role players supporting them. Add in injuries & they are a vulnerable.

The media hype, accolades and general AFL support for getting them to improve probably doesn’t help. Tough love is required rather than a silver spoon and they will grow up strong rather than with a soft underbelly that struggles when times get tough. They still struggle in 1 quarter in every game, this needs to stop to make finals.

Regardless what happens in 2023, they need to give Voss three years to build something as another 2 year sacking will send them backwards again.

Carlton fans telling us that their side missed the finals this year by the narrowest of margins.

Clarkson would have been a difference maker.
I get it, you’re backing your coach.

But there’s no way he lets that Carlton side fall over in the last quarter of that round 23 game like Voss did.

Nonetheless, missing finals next year with the list he has at his disposal is a massive fail.

Project Green Shoots commenced end 2015 and now must deliver. That’s the job of Voss.

Why are we even comparing Voss to Clarkson? Clarkson wasn't available to coach when we needed a coach. Keeping Teague for another year in the hope we could get Clarkson in 2023 would have been very damaging to the club

What is the AFL support we are being given again?

Yep we must deliver next season, will be a fail if we don't play finals.

Nah he’ll have another 3 minimum with no finals. But they’ll make finals this year so it won’t matter.

I don’t see Carlton sacking a legend of the game after 2 years when he’s already improved them.
Considering Carlton missed the finals by 0.6% in 2022, should they miss the finals in 2023 then you'd have to say it's extremely likely that they won't get as close as 0.6%. Therefore, missing the finals in 2023 would be a step backwards when compared to 2022 and you wouldn't be able to state Voss has improved them when comparing year-to-year performance. Two years of missing the finals and seemingly taking the team backwards (at least on paper) might be enough to see Voss get the bullet.

Too many players with heads like boarding house puddings. Talent at the pointy end of the list is undoubted but some are contingent and lack temperament. The top end is supported by a weak list. The Dons arguably have more two way runners.

Why? It will be a massive failure if they don't make finals next year.

Scott has to be under more pressure surely? I mean Essendon change CEO's and board members faster than a flyweight throws 'jabs' - the "bring back Hird" thing is also supported by what Essendon people label as the greatest coach of all time in Sheedy....

Yep – another easy draw, should make it (again).

No draw is easy. I don't see them playing the Hawks and North Melbourne 10 times each.

I reckon 2023 is an important consolidation year. Voss seems to be the good coach most expected. I reckon they will be in the 10 to 13 range. I expect a significant cull at year's end of those unable to be as competitive as the Coach expects.

Carlton has always had champion back slappers and back knifers. It is important they be kept at bay from the Footy Dept and playing group.

I hope they're in the 8 all year until the last round again. It would be fun if that happened.

As for the thread? Maybe. I think they need to see out year 3 (assuming it's a 3 year contract)

I think Carlton can afford to say yes to this question because Carlton IS going to make the finals this year. That is a bare minimum.

Unless there is an injury rate rivalling the Bakhmut front he simply must make the finals. Considering the level of footy they showed they were capable of this year and the profile of their list it should have been go time in 2022. If it doesn't happen in 2023 Vossy needs to be put down.

8 x 50 mtr penalties rd.1 ,resulting in 4 goals,kaching,kaching
got a leg up from the AFL from the get go and still couldnt capatalise, pathetic, Karmas a bitch aint it ;)
wont even mention the Brownlow, insignificant individual award that it is
If you don't understand a rule as simple as the 10m protected zone rule then I can't help you. And was the Brownlow an insignificant award when Dusty won it? What an embarrassing post 😆
Edit: I see you Fadge 💙

lol ,not too bright are ya....the fact that the whole interpretation of those 8 x 50ms had swung 190 degrees by mid-late season just goes to show
wot a s**t circus it was, et al,kicking the ball away on the sound of the whistle, faking handball on stand to draw a 50, actually kicking the ball away after the whistle had blown, not on the whistle like we copped it but after, they completely looked the other way on that one by late season, and the best one of all
my favourite, deemed too rough,it was a good tackle but a bit too rough n aggressive so we're gonna have to penalise ya,did i mention STAND :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:

yas got the chocolates gift wrapped courtasey of HQ and couldnt help yaselves could yas
in the end ya all became the victims of your own s**t show :beercheers::beercheers:

so in the end do i think if Carlton misses the 8 does Voss hold his position ? one can only hope so
