Oldham were the first Premier League club to drop into the 5th tier. And now are next to bottom of the National League. All is looking well off the field but David Unsworth isn't getting results. From his interviews I get the impression he doesn't know what he's doing. Bradesmaen do you have any info from when he was coaching at Everton?
Not only Oldham, but Scun-thorpe, who were a Championship team a decade ago find themselves at the bottom of the National League. These two teams seem to be following each other down the tiers.

A shame the Cumbrian derby didn't take place this morning (Brunton Park was frozen) as both teams are in the battle for an automatic promotion spot and Carlisle was expecting to see one of its largest crowds in more than a decade.

The bloke who runs our pub trivia's son played in goal for Salford this morning and was supposedly their second best player. Hope he has a decent future for Aus, think he was in the U23 squad recently and was second favourite to Gauci.

Jacob Chapman, seems a promising keeper but hasn't started any of their other cup games, just EFL Trophy games, so hopefully he can progress. Every time he plays he seems in their best, but not sure if that's more to do with the players around him. Still pretty young for a keeper.

We are weeks away from going under. Players and staff were late getting paid last month. This deal was meant to be done in the middle of December. Results on the pitch doesn't matter. atm We just need change. We are up to our 2nd interim manager. Think that is the 4th straight month we had an interim manager. And we just "sold" our leading goal scorer to Oldham.

Carlisle defeated Bradford 1-0 to move up to 4th in L2, and dropping the Bantams out of the playoff spots.

The top 3, Orient, Stevenage (?) and Northampton have opened a seven point gap over the rest and are looking safe for automatic promotion.

ANother win for Carlisle, this time 3-0 away at Crewe. At the halfway mark of the season the Cumbrians are 4th with a 10-9-4 record. And Northampton lost 2-1 at home to Swindon so the gap to an automatic promotional spot in now 4pts.

Another Greater Manchester club finds itself in the relegation zone, Rochdale who were playing League One last season are in trouble of successive relegations. They have now lost five on the trot and won only one of their last nine games.

Nah - we'll just stay up. It's the Wigan way to barely survive. Just need to spend in Jan and get some more quality. And back players like Aasgaard in and start the kid.

Tough few results for you guys - is it three 4-1s in a row? Thought there'd been promising signs under Toure but didn't look much good this morning.

Yep sadly not. Need some quality ins in this window but I fear League One is almost certain now.

I just want a boring mid-table season in any league...just once
