If Goodwin has back to back poor seasons (which would make it 3 in 5 seasons) I can see Carlton finishing higher.

Wouldn’t it have been easier to write a 6 week stretch of 6 day breaksLooking at the teams we double up, for sure no excuses. however, when you dive deeper into the draw its not that friendly.
Round 3-5, back to back 6 day breaks including travelling twice.
Rounds 6-8, back to back 6 day breaks with a trip to Perth in the middle.
Round 11 we go to Sydney on a 5 day break.
We have won more than four flags in the last eighty six years though!Oh no.
Carlton supporter starts a thread comparing a team who won a flag two years ago and were flag favourites for most of 2022, with their own team who hasn't made the finals for 9 seasons?
Ourselves and the Dees have 29 flags between us. We're both the two oldest Melbourne clubs as well. Yet we've never played the Dees in a grand final. It would have happened in 1987 alright, if it wasn't for Jim Stynes running across the mark!Dees in 2023 but not by much. Can see both making top 4.
I think this could become a nice little rivalry over the next few years. They seem to match up nicely and the Blues will want to show something after the way our last meeting ended.

Tbf it's DVB, don't hold it against us.Oh no.

It's weird how Melbourne have never played Geelong or Carlton in a grand final, that's the three oldest clubs right there. Geelong and Carlton have only ever played each other once in a grand final too.wow, I didn't know that
That is really odd
Nah none of Carltons bottom 8 players will improve, stick to that and we'll see how you go next season. This is classic 'analysis' on the Blues...
Talk about how their list is primed to challenge for a flag and reference only their top handful of players, one of whom has unfortunately already been ruled out without a known return date.
Carlton got 93% of games and 109 goals out of Curnow and McKay in 2022. What is the likelihood of a better return in 2023? Possible but certainly not probable.
Who is this 'midfield depth' of which you speak? Dow? O'Brien?

How about Carroll, Motlop, Durdin and Kemp.so you see scope for improvement from Newman, Plowman, lob, etc?
Elliot, Pendlebury, Cox and Howe all gone soon, you should be more worried about that.Frightening.
How about Carroll, Motlop, Durdin and Kemp.
Good ordinary players after 1 or 2 seasons lolIn Jack Dyer’s immortal words Carroll, Motlop and Kemp might make “good ordinary players”. Durdin has greater scope.
Cripps might improve by committing to running both ways.
Hmm Carlton really do live rent free in your head buddy! This is classic 'analysis' on the Blues...

Not a bad call. Both will finish top 4 imo and if they meet up in their first final it could go either way.Dees minor premiers, Carlton 4th. Carlton upset Dees in QF. Book it in.

He seems to spend more time talking about Carlton, than he does his own team!to be fair, Fadge does make good points
