With Brisbane’s excellent depth across the forward line and midfield, I can almost see how they go all the way.

But in the plethora of off-season acquisitions, the biggest question over them still hasn’t been addressed: is their backline really premiership caliber?

Is it even in the top 6?

As for Freo, I reckon you have 11 games that you could/should be considered favourites in.
If the other 11 are 50/50...
You get to play Cats, Lions, Dogs, Swans and Tigers at home (not forgetting that this year you beat Cats in Geelong, Dogs at Marvel and home, beat Dees at the G and drew with Tigers).

well thats the thing, I was suprised for got 15 wins, 1 draw and 6 losses from 22 games in 2022.

Dockers had their best win tally away wise with 7 wins and 1 draw from 10 games. only carlton and gold coast beat the dockers outside of WA.

Yeah I didnt expect Freo to beat cats in geelong or Demons at the MCG in 2022. Scary thing to say this, Dockers have beaten the cats in Geelong more times than Freo has beaten essendon in all victorian grounds.

And that is a statement in itself ....

Dockers will finish Between 7th to 10th

Your team’s defence is too good to finish 10th. You’d have to have some pretty unfortunate injuries to fall that far.

Oh it doesn't worry me, I just thought it amusing that losing those 3 players will have Hawthorn fall in a hole, yet the clubs they go to won't really improve.
So you're amused at your inability to fathom how losing 3 top 10 players from a middling club can make them crash further down the ladder, compared to three separate top 8 teams picking up one player each?

Again, how many of those 8 wins do you think you would have had without those three players?

Considering our injuries over the course of the year when we had no fit rucks for a time and Lewis, Day, Jiath, Impey and Wingard all missed games, you might understand why it’s debatable losing those 3 senior players is going to govern how we go if they’re all fit.

Plenty of upside in those names above, along with a whole bunch of others on the list IMO.

But stress less, I had us coming 18th in my ladder too just to fit in to this thread, but I’m quite certain we’ll win more than 2 games.

Better? Now you don't have to worry about the number of wins.

Gunston to the Lions will be some nice veteran leadership, but do they really need him? Whose spot does he take? They've played finals for a few years now and have quite a few guys with finals experience now. How many more wins does he bring to the table?

Gunston replaces McStay who left via trade.

Tiers can pretty much be in any order. The lower half of the 8 is going to be super competitive next year.

Tier 1

1. Brisbane
2. Melbourne
3. Geelong

Tier 2

4. Fremantle
5. Carlton
6. Richmond
7. Collingwood
8. Sydney
9. Gold Coast
10. Western Bulldogs

Tier 3

11. Adelaide
12. Port Adelaide
13. Essendon
14. St Kilda

Tier 4

15. North Melbourne
16. GWS
17. West Coast
18. Hawthorn

You could combine your 2nd and 3rd tier IMO. Crows and Bombers smokeys for 8th if things click. Port and Saints will have expectations of finals.

Prediction #739 because boredom.

The only issue I see with this is that it's essentially just this years ladder with a few teams slightly moved around (ignoring the Carlton rise).

Historically it changes more more than that.

To be fair, I wouldn't be surprised if that's exactly the order the bottom 4 find themselves in though.

Show me one person who predicted Collingwood to be 4th in 2022, before the 2022 season started.
I did and I put $ on Sportsbet for both top 8 & top 4 as ‘20 & ‘21 weren’t indicative of Pies potential in my opinion. Brothers told me I was crazy but the odds were good & thought Collingwood was being underestimated.

Agree except I'd have Geelong finishing on top and Collingwood second. Geelong will have even more depth this year. Collingwood will improve and showed last year they were wuite capable of matching any team including Geelong. The Demons are just not that good anymore.

Esava Ratugolea will have a breakout year. Be afraid. He will make Conan the Barbarian look like Conan O'Brien by comparison. 🤓
Esava already looks like a poor man’s Tim O’Brien, to be honest.

Yes, and you thought Geelong would win the flag in 2022 after an 83 point thumping in a prelim in 2021.

Geelong didn't go back to back in their halcyon days. They sure as hell won't be doing it next year.
