I Women clearly don't think so; the left clearly don't think so;
I wouldn't make that assumption, everyone indulges in old stereotypes about men and gender roles. It's one thing to know better on an intellectual level, much harder to change behaviour.

now the right - including the vulnerable men you're so passionately championing - can now reflect on the reality that your penis is not who you are or denote your value. Her retort has forced the conversation.
It's good that we're having the conversation.

Oh, I’m talking about the audience.

If his audience is pushing Tates ideology in real life, I hope they feel anguished enough to reflect on how they’re acting.
Commentary on Trumps hands can be heard in mainstream or leftists audience, such as late shows, or on the debate stage.

No woman who has opined on the subject that I've seen value a man solely for their penis. While I grant you that they could be catering to male insecurity, I'm not in the habit of accusing people of dishonesty without evidence.
It's good that we're having the conversation.
I agree. It'd be better if the conversation was less about Tate/Thunberg and more about a society that aligns one's physical characteristics with their social value, but placing things in a hierarchy of value is something the right has always done.

It's good that they're confronting it now, if confronting it is what they're doing.

That's a low bar. The real test is whether they're willing to use language which references those kinds of prejudices

It's up to the left to confront their own behaviour on this. That's where the hypocrisy is

Yep. Knew it.

Fake concern is shed, this is just another hypocrisy of the left thread.

I’ll continue using small dick energy in the hope it shames Tate fans. Cheers.

That's an interesting old edit, Lethality. Next time, maybe the charade'll go on a little longer.

Thread has been merged with Hypocrisy of the Left, as that is - essentially - what's being discussed here; it isn't body shaming, and it isn't words.

It's a method to point score.

The logic seems to be that if the target of body-shaming is a terrible person, then said body shaming is acceptable and if you question this then you must be surely "rushing to the defense" of the villain who received it. Or that we can't walk and chew bubblegum here, discuss 2 separate issues without suggesting equivalency?

As a hypothetical, what would be the reaction if a prominent Jewish person on Twitter wrote a tweet to Kanye calling him the N word. Kanye has said horrible things about the Jewish community and claims to love nazis, few would have sympathy for him in isolation. But members of the black community who see the tweet may well find it hurtful to see the word used this way, and understandably so. It's about defending them, not defending Kanye. Lead by example, Greta!

I do find it interesting that certain people are suddenly very concerned with language like this, in this particular setting, but have never shown any interest in it previously.

Almost like it's not about the language as much as it is the 'gotcha'

My problem is more with the Left because I expect this kind of language from the other side. But that's not point scoring.
Yes it is.
You're more worried about what people "on the left" are saying than what others are actually doing.

You know who else argues like that? The people doing heinous shit

No it's not, I just don't treat these issues like a game.

Human trafficking is endemic in our world, and Tate is a known trafficker who is under police custody. So it's fairly cut and dry on that end, there wasn't a lot of interesting discussion.

I also never watched or followed his content, so to me he's just a guy.

I even asked people what they wanted tu talk about regarding Tate, and there was nothing.

You know who else argues like that? The people doing heinous s**t

A quick scan of the top threads here, or even your own posting priorities shows we don't generally talk about subjects in order of ultimate importance.
Has nothing to do with being a villain.

yeah and you thought you'd make his thread about the insult thrown at him and not what he did or does

if you were really worried about body shaming you'd have been up in arms about how he talked about everything but no

because you don't engage in good faith, you were literally there for your personal crusade which is incel mens health

the issue to you is people not being supportive enough of misogynistic fascist types, what about their mental health

don't pretend you give a shit about anything else

I don't sit at home and barrack for the downfall of leftist public figures, or watch dumb react videos, or clickbait that tells me what I want to hear. That's what I meant by treating things like a game.

I don't watch his stuff, so there's not much opportunity to be up in arms. Plus he's preaching to the converted, so it's not a threat.

It's more about the normalisation of problematic language for the rest of us.

People don't talk about the most important things in order. It sounds like we should, but we don't. Reference: your own posting.

Yeah you don't see Tate as a threat or his ilk, just the language people use to insult him.
Very clear where your priorities lie
