I'd like to see some more burst running capability out of the backline to support IQ - that's Noble's one wood, so unless McCreey can fill that role, I can see a spot for him in the side. I wonder if McStay plays the CHF role as I get the feeling he'll be a better contested marking target than Mihocek for the kick outside D50 - I'd hope that Steele is a fill-in player this year, so an Interchange option in our best side and that one of the younger players can force their way into the starting 18 - would love that player to be Reef playing the De Goey lead-up forward role but too early to call. If McStay rucks then our forward line lacks marking power - I wonder if we can play three crumbing forwards (Ginni, McReery, Hill) and then there's Ash! Glad I'm not a selector.Best 22 for 2023:
FB: Howe, Frampton, Quaynor
HB: Hoskin-Elliott, Moore, Maynard
C: J. Daicos, Crisp, Sidebottom
HF: Elliott, Mihocek, Lipinski
FF: Hill, McStay, Ginnivan
FOL: Cameron, Mitchell, De Goey
INT: N. Daicos, Pendlebury, Adams, McCreery
SUB: Carmichael

… and homicide.Seems like our unofficial scratch match will be against Carlton. Hope it's open to crowds

I thought you were soft in your stance. So I helped you out.I’m merely suggesting we ought to be Encouraged & remunerated to murder Carltank players and supporters. Not sure what far out tangent you’re going off on.![]()

I get the feeling our list management now is starting to get generational . . . layers of players maturing in vital positions in staged rates so that we don't ever have the situation we had in 1959.Ed Allen a chance to break into the midfield or too much depth in there atm?
No player is soft, that is true, but there are varying levels of hardness, and Will is towards the bottom. He lacks confidence (handpass in goal square, drops marks) and just can’t stick tackles, or apply physical pressure, so doesn’t make us a stronger or high pressure team. And pressure is what’s it’s all about in the big games…

Thanks you do have a lot of players to rotate in midfield that are similar to him.Been playing wing, so he may have to bide his time. He has quite the frame and his height will be something special when he does play. But never say never.
Thomas knees were shot to shit.Let’s stop the malarkey. WHE got his 24/25 games because there were way more holes to fill last season than we had top end talent. FFS Bianco was getting consistent games in the AFL team. So it leads to the thought that WHE was a shoe in under those circumstances.
However, the Coaches have seen the need to bring in players and depth that will inevitably see the back end of players of the ilk of WHE. Just as Thomas and Mayne were sent on their way, WHE is in the bottom 2 or 3 of our best 22 and sits more in that 22-30 range of players. With a downward spiral. Yes he can fill roles over the year if their are injuries and players needing a rest. A good bit part player.
So unfortunately for all the WHE love festers, if we are to succeed to the ultimate prize this year. WHE will need to only play up to 5 games this year. As that would mean we have had a quantum shift forward on all our lines and others have taken the roles. And that’s our best outcome.

Yes, we're building - watch our for Arlo Draper too, he could be our big improver. Thanks you do have a lot of players to rotate in midfield that are similar to him.
Would play in a lot of other clubs I think round 1.
You have Mitchell Pendlebury Adams Sidebottom De Goey all certain to be in the frame. McRae should start to get more games through there as well I would imagine. Also you have alot of guys that can come in for short stints. Elliot Crisp Quaynor.
ssshhhhh! ......don't let him know about Josh Carmichael.Yes, we're building - watch our for Arlo Draper too, he could be our big improver.
