When they did their whole unvailing of this on the coverage last night, I'm like, this looks familiar.

And as the above are also owned by the Adani Group, they have kept a similar logo to their ILT20 franchise

UP = Uttar Pradesh, the state they are based in. They probably decided to not use Lucknow (the city they are based in), so that they don't get confused with the new IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants

As for the naming of Gujarat Giants, the Adani Group already has franchises in other leagues (LLC and PKL) called the Gujarat Giants, and would want to keep the naming pattern.

Aside from the coloured strips there's no link between Gold Coast and Carrara's sponsored name.

At least the old logo incorporated the new roof with a floodlight into the name.
