How many guernseys would each player go through in a year, and would the cost be totally covered by sponsorship?

And, Greta wanted me to ask what effect it's having on the environment 😜

Seriously though, when I played the club got a new set every 5 years minimum!

Interesting to sue a sponsor.

I think of it as a way to pad Jacks salary.

Eagles pay him $ xxxxxx, then the Worst ( Sorbent substitute ),pop in and pay him $ yyyyy.

In all the truth, not too sure what the Worst did wrong in the article. One of those rare media pieces with facts.

Me and the Mrs have been watching last year's games and we have the Adelaide game with chappys fist of justice. For the past 20 minutes we have been trying to synchronise commentary from the SA ABC YouTube with the kayo vision because Kelli underwood
I'm watching the second derby right now! Caleb Serong is my hero, the fight in him is so impressive

Today I learned that Mike Tyson is a centimetre shorter than Caleb Serong.

I'm not surprised. It was an awful injury saga. He looked troubled and somewhat under a cloud most of last season. Good on him for choosing to air his struggles and may 2023 bring Fyfey happier, better times.

He seems so Stoic.. was nice to hear he is human like the rest of us..not that I'm happy he has been struggling.
Just that he is human.
Fyfe has had the carry a lot the past 6 years.

the clubs posted an operating profit of 2.43mil, pretty good going without pokies as well

Have you been to Geelong? They rely
On gamblers to hand over their pensions through the pokies.

Imagine the ethics of Freo FC allowing gamblers to play on pokies set up by the club at the ARC with a bar so they can drink too.

They're a bit fancy now haha, I don't play for them anymore but they've got real swish ones and it doesn't have the giant mud that develops due to lack of drainage in front of the change rooms.

Tbh, I'm surprised it's not brought up enough in circles that WA doesn't have pokies, something that should be strongly celebrated.

Bar 1 or 2 teams, that is how the NRL teams fund themselves.

It's why V'Landys fought so hard during the start of the pandemic to get NRL back on screens within a couple of months: Without the T.V. revenue with all the Leagues clubs shut and not turning over their pokie profit literally every club outside of the Broncos and Roosters would've folded and the league would've gone under.

The AFL were able to establish a line of credit through Marvel that enabled them to be able to weather it (plus had somewhere between 4-6 clubs on their own without aid who also would've been able to weather it). For all V'Landys bluster about saying "The AFL should be thankful to the NRL for getting up and running": The AFL didn't need it to reopen quickly to survive and thus were in a far better position to just comply and establish good faith with all the state governments and just piggyback on the ballbusting the NRL had to do.

yeah im sure theyre nicer now, but these clubs out here have full on restaurants and obviously a big pokies room to fund it all

The pokies revenue wasn't included in state funds for the purpose of distributing GST between the states the last time I looked at it too.
It's such a crock. They think every state can earn it if they want so it shouldn't be part of the funding mechanism. Yet mining is considered not fair we can earn more than others yet some states choose not to exploit their natural resources which is their choice.

I'd argue states like Sydney have a lot more casino revenue due to their close proximity to Asia and their World City status but none of it matters in the carve up.

Reliance on pokies is the scourge of our communities. Governments rely on the tax revenue they bring as do the sporting clubs. WA needs to stand firm and not allow them, stuff the fancy bars and restaurants, built on the misery of OAPs.
