I cant wait to see how that Dogs forwardline works, just feels like when the mids on top they are going to slaughter some shitty teams but when they play better teams or it comes to finals, the lack of groundball ability and pressure is going to completely * em

Lack of small forwards too.
Feel like teams will just defend the stoppages, overawe Bonts and just keep it in their forward line.
Their midfield is meh. Can see Smith going in their, but it’s all offensive and lack of defensive that’s the worry.
Melbourne did it and then Fremantle turned up the pressure for 2 1/2 quarters and they lose.

My favourite takes are how recruiting Taranto and Hopper fix Richmond's defensive issues but recruiting Jackson doesn't address our scoring problem.

Recruiting Taranto and Hopper, even team mates and mid 20s, is massive for a club like Richmond. Martin can play forward like Fyfe, Cotchin will be pushed into the Mundy role. Prestia is still a damn good player
Still decent enough for top 8.

I think it makes an ordinary midfield good. Cotchin is well past it based on recent seasons, Prestia is always injured and Dusty seems past his best and possibly more than that.

Agree on their defense.

They didn't have a strong midfield, they had a poor midfield. It was their clear weakness, one of the worst in the league for clearances. It makes a poor midfield an ok midfield (similar to what Joao said )

The WB and Adelaide have the same problem, a stacked forward line, average midfield and poor defense, which is why they're both likely to end up in the 6-12 range.
