True but besides Hollands and Acres (who could be injured), we have O Brien and Cottrell. More chance of getting a spot there rather than third tall (forward or back) or midfielder

Binnsy was also drafted as a running wing option.
Then there’s a Camporeale to factor (w)in(g), or maybe 2.
Doesn’t appear BK is in any thinking to be played in the midfield area.

Read through the previous arguments about Kemp

Whatever we do with Kemp we need to do something. He is too talented to be in the VFL. We need to find a way to get him into our AFL side. I've long thought he would be okay on a wing. He is tall, mobile and has a bit of dash. Also a beautiful long kick. Either that or as an inside mid. I think he needs to get into a game near the contest or running to space. I can see how at AFL level he may struggle to get the ball as a forward.
Drop/Sub: JSOS
3rd Tall Forward: McGovern
3rd Tall Defender: Kemp

Of course, U don’t rate Dow & Fish is your untouchable.
Cincotta wasn’t great
Where have I stated Fisher is untouchable? But, finally getting somewhere with you wanting Dow in the side?

Perhaps rather than being concerned or highlighting my thoughts/suggestions, perhaps you could state your own

And still waiting on what basis, " it will be a minor miracle that we win this week"

We aren’t playing well is the basis. Our midfield is not performing & our transition is poor. That’s what I was basing it on- was worried Kelly & Cogs would tear us up with Ward shutting down Cripps (that obviously wasn’t even close to the situation) & Whitfield carving us up.
You love the Fish - come on - at least own it, Dow should be in our side & I firmly believe it’s blatantly stupid he’s not. Even if he stinks it for 3 weeks, he deserves it after what he has shown.

We won the inside 50 count by +11, clearances by +7, contested possession by +25. For me it was our footskills, where we didn't capitalise on our chances, especially having +10 more scoring shots

I couldn't give a shit about the name, draft pick, size or anything else. I have no favourites

So, what changes would you have made prior to the game?

looking at kemps size and physical attributes he probably should be taking cowan spot as Mitch can play hybrid also .. this is a damning statement for someone who has been in the system this long -- there are reasons why Cowan was promoted ahead of kemp and plowman that only those inside the club would know .. maybe they should give him runs on the ball just to keep up his appetite for the game but if he doesn't get to break into our starting 22 I don't see him hanging around next year and he will be a good acquisition for someone for a fourth rounder
Kemp is Mcgovern's replacement in 2 years. Marchbank is gone

Hollands, acres, O’Brien and cottrell are elite runners.

Kemp isn’t an elite runner as far as l know. I don’t think he can play wing because of this. He may not even be able to play any midfield position purely because he doesn’t have the tank for it.

When l first saw kemp play what l saw was a guy who moves and makes decisions like a defender.

Kemp is not an AFl standard wing runner. He’s doing a bloody good job as a third tall defender. Why not be patient and just let him find his way?

Reasonable chance he replaces McGovern there in time. He’s still very young.

No, needs to find more continuity
Fair. I liked the small set up this week. Was at the ground. The small forwards pressured well. If honey could play that role I would be happy.

The only concern (other than our kicking for goal) was our midfield pace in transition. At the ground it was rather scary to watch how easily they were ‘dropped’.

Speed around a losing contest has been a concern for a while, especially with runners/speed injured players

Having a full deck of mids, especially Walsh will help, Cotts, Boyd, Cuners, Honey pressing for selection further improves that area

Doc should be in the guts, Acres should be spending time in there as well

We certainly need to target some speed in the off season

Agree. Those ins balance a lot. Doc just kills it with his big body and two way run in midfield. He was sensational yesterday. I hope we find a way to leave him there for the year.

Was Binns good enough for a game next week? From the bits I saw he was. Really impressed me last week. His body seems strong enough. His running is amazing. Grit and tough. Great hands. Kicking seems better?

What are the thoughts?

Bring Cincotta (has speed and strong body) in to play as the 7th defender, which releases Doc to the middle

Has a stronger body than Hollands, not quite the contested game, but runs all day, slightly quicker and very disciplined to keep width

Suspect Cincotta may come into the 22 for Cowan who may go to sub?

Suspect they’ll mix and match Doc and Cerra across half back/mid. It’s what they did last year in the final two games and they did it yesterday. Cerra starts back sometimes. Doc cente bounce sometimes. When we push a long way forward Doc pushes back to structure up. It’s a good move.

Think that was due to only having 3 mids, with Kennedy back this week, we may leave Doc in the backline rotations, playing in front of the other defenders
How was Cincotta in the vfl? Hands, kicking, tenacity? Run? Overhead? How’s he shaping up?
Only one I would call up from that game.

Hands solid, kicking was okay, but was biting off harder kicks. Run good, not many that were good overhead in those conditions
