Good, that we seem to not panic, whether it be a shrug off a tackle, a fend off, a baulk, occasionally it doesn’t come off (ala pedlar and Tex) but on the whole it’s been great this year.
He literally had 2 years out of the game, people were far too quick to want to throw him on the scrap heap - he needed the continuity.

Adelaide: 303.1 km
Carlton: 301 km
Not a huge difference there but then on the sprints front (times a player runs above 24km/h for 1 second) it's
Adelaide: 267
Carlton: 221
Repeat sprints (total sprints 24km/h within 60 seconds of each other
Adelaide: 32
Carlton: 21
Probably the type of workrate stuff Nicks would love to see. I don't necessarily think of Carlton as a slow team, so just looks like a big effort difference there. Cover near the same amount of ground in the end, but got one side who just makes those extra little efforts across a game.

Dawson. Another 3 votes.
Jones. Kid really stood up and has taken a big step this year. 3rd best on ground for us.
Laird. Quality game again.
Murray. Beat their talls.
Fog. Very good, great under pressure tonight.
Doedee. Vgood tonight.
Keays. Kicked a couple of important goals.
Bad
A few had poor quarters but most of them bounced back.
Soligo didn't have a great night but not worried about it at all

I remember hearing Gawn talking about Burgess and he said he taught the players to play through pain and discomfort, and that playing with pain and discomfort is different from playing injured. Watching Butts and Fogarty at the ground tonight, I reckon they were in that category and both did their jobs superbly.
No but he does things that some of our players are not capable of and he is really difficult to tackle. That moment in the goal square where the opponent legged him is an example of this.
It's easy to look at Dawson's kicking and go wow, but I think it's his size and strength that has transformed our midfield.
He walks through tackles and is able to stand up and break away or deliver the ball to someone in a better position.
