would love to get a player like Kai Lowman from the lions young & down the pecking order with all there forawrds. Med forward who's tough skillful & strong hands ... that type of players would be essential as jacky martin never on the paddock. hope we target that position at the end of the year
Lohmann as mentioned in the AFL article is a highly promising young player. He has little career path behind Cameron, Bailey and McCarthy among others. His two game cameos were very promising and would be an excellent prospect should there be a chance to attract him to Ikon Park. Very robust, tough type who would certainly bring POD to the table.

I agree 100%.

The risk with having too many "always injured" and too many players like Fog / Plow on your list is that we waste space we could use to find a state legeaue player that can move into our best 22.

I don't believe there is not one single state league player in the country capable of playing in our best 22, this year or next. I can gaurantee you every year those players listed above were picked people said "no state league player is going to get into our best 22".

And as you have highlighted history tells us they are there. No, they dont all work, and we at least are trying to allocate some slots. The question is does the pay-off in conituing to wait for Cunners/Marchy/Martin and signing on Ed, Plow outweigh the opportunity cost of trailing 2 state league players?

Cincotta comes in and looks like he is a serviceable AFL player after 3 games, there would be heaps of players who could do it.

How about you go to Richmond with TDK, Dow plus a few draft picks for someone like Bolton and ask the question. They are entering a rebuild, would Bolton want to stick along for that? Perfect type of player we need.

TDK can fill in the Jack Riewoldt spot when he retires and pinch hit ruck. Dow replaces Cotchin and plays with his bro. Plus whatever draft picks, hell even chuck LOB in

Given our weakness on the outside of stoppages should we be looking at Taryn Thomas.. The Carlton Respects thing prob prevents it but as a risk v reward outcomes its worth thought.

sounds like a reasonable idea although some will feel differently........

Dont mind this poo poo platter approach. Ideally TDK shows a bit more though.

If it’s “the Carlton Respect thing” that prevents it, he should have plenty of suitors, right?

What’s the bet he doesn’t, and by extension that it’s not just Carlton Respects standing in his way?

I think he would have suiters, for sure. We wouldn't be one though, likely because of Carlton Respects.

For Carlton it would likely be Carlton Respects. Other clubs may not take him on due to moral issues even without an attached social movement, which is good, but not every club - as North have shown by keeping him around.

Fwiw I'm not arguing we should go after him, I was hoping he'd be banned and cut for what he did. I'm just suggesting that IAAM's idea that Carlton Respects would stop us from going after him isn't unfair.

It's not unfair and it would be a factor, but I don't believe it would be the only reason.

If he's cut by North I will be stunned if he gets another opportunity.

TDK will choose a club and there won't be player swap. It's rare.

We will ask for a 1st round pick and more and so we should whether he is in the team currently or not. He's not in front of Charlie or Harry and Pittonet is a very good seasoned ruckman.

The thought of getting a player like TDK to a club with ageing tall forwards and little in the way of future ruck stocks (here's looking at you Cats and Swans) will be too much for these types of clubs to not get very excited by what TDK can bring to their clubs and pay a decent price.

I expect we will take a clubs 1st either this years or next and a 3rd and call it a day. Both sides will be happy with the outcome if TDK does decide to leave.

As for what else I'd like us to do come trade/draft period is to invest heavily into this year's draft. Our 2024 1st and 2nd picks should be traded into this year with good signs so far re the Campo twins who I expect will nominate Carlton. We also should ask the question a year early of Noah Cumberland. OOC at the end of 2024 and again out of the Tigers best 22 this week. Think he would be worth pursuing.

Picks 10, 16, 18 and a couple of 2nd round picks this year really could help us address some glaring holes in our list.

I also think we should get in the ear of Zak Butters like right now... OOC at the end of 2024 and a Vic boy.

fwiw, I reckon he'll sign on for another 2 years to take him through to free agency.....UNLESS some club is prepared to offer him a multi year deal on big $$, which you would imagine at least gives us some leverage when it comes to a trade. Can't really see him wanting to go to the Stains and being 2nd fiddle behind Marshall and King, not sure if he'd want to go interstate, and the pussy cats tend to not pay overs even if they are looking for a long term ruck option.

I reckons he'll hang with us for a few more years, then test the market when he becomes a free agent. Cook said he wants to stay at the club, so that's good enough for me....and probably for TDK as well if we throw some half decent dollars at him over the next 2 years.

No. I am all for forgiving mistakes but his conduct is not acceptable. If he got in a bar brawl with men - sure. But no
