I don’t mean to be too harsh. But the priority for the list was clearly pace and kicking. And he brought in multiple blokes who can’t kick. And are good endurance runners but no ‘pace’.Good post, but think you’re harsh on Austin, Windows.

Keep waving that flag Arrow
So the new board member is tapped on the shoulder / appointed by the current board.
Not selected through a transparent process in any way, shape or form? Oh, they'll take 'counsel' from an Independent Committee or some other nonsense and then go right ahead and add one of their corporate cronies.
Gotcha. I guess we can't really expect anything to change or improve...

It's really easy
Give us 3 names you want to replace Matho
Obviously your rapt with the way things are being managed at the club to post that image.
Comparisons are to Richmond pre premiership are so wrong. Who do we have of the ilk of Brendan Gale?

That's not how it works, or is it what I'm saying.
If I were to suggest 3 names, I would still want an open and transparent process, and possibly even (god forbid) an election.
If I was really pressed though, Old Dark Navies, Aphrodite or Jeremias? All seem to do a pretty good job as moderators...

Just because their supporters aremorons didn't mean their board was. The board was strong and stable, they withstood a bunch of dumb dumbs. Ours isn't of that quality nor is it free of dumb dumbsYou are still missing the point JP, like most supporters
Tiger supporters wanted blood at the end of 2016, board, coaching, fitness, players, et, etc.
Nothing changed at board level in terms of people (I could be wrong)
The changes have started at board level, but that isn't the key to change our onfield output, not ours, not any club
Just a reminder Carlton Respects criticism etc does Board and has crept back into a couple of posts.
Okay, that's fair. We then, as a supporter group, accept who the members voted in
Let's say that person is you, what next, what would you do to help/assist Sayers in driving on field output
No….Australian Federal Police (AFP) has launched a criminal investigation. They are so ****ed it’s not funny. With international repercussions as so many people were involved. 9 stood done so far, but the preliminary evidence is damning - heaps of internal emails (incl international counterparts) dozens of people knew about it & acted on it. Have a quick google it’s huge & ****ing disgraceful as it’s us they were ripping off.Isn't it only an internal investigation being run by PWC at present? If so I wouldn't think he'd be bound to stay in the country let alone step down from anything particularly since he doesn't even work there any more.
Just a little on this.I have given a lot of thought to the core issues. It’s very important that we realise everything starts and therefore sheets back home to the Board. They initiate the decisions and put in motion the appointments that lead to other decisions. They also hold (or don’t) people accountable to their decisions and actions.
We (me included) rant on about SYMPTOMS. The core issue is the decisions that are made. Whether they work. How much leniency is given to errors. What is done when there are too many.
I want to make sure I am crystal clear: I don’t want them to air all dirty laundry. That would be inappropriate. What I want to see is:
When there are clearly quite a number of bad decisions made by an individual there is accountability. Change.
I will canvass a few:
1. We decided to keep Brad Lloyd. HIS decisions include: supporting the appointment of Voss, the appointment of Hamill etc, the inability to retain Jones (we threw a tantrum at him, clearly). The appointment of Nick Austin. Now Nick’s decision making needs questioning. Club psychologist. Whoever that is is either horribly unfunded or inept.
Lloyd decision.
2. The Board appointed Brian Cook. He has no presence. No apparent energy or love for this organisation. He would have been a good consultant or Board member. Cook himself has supported keeping Brad Lloyd and the other decisions around coaching. He has also said “I’ll give you 3 years” which is a terrible temporary mindset. Who appointed him?
3. Voss: his decisions include his coaching group (no change after a year of data last year). Jones. Stocker. Setterfield. His game plan.
We could go down through the hierarchy and individualise. But it starts at the Board. We have a President who was on a failed Board for a decade and then stepped up?
So who decides the Board? Well. WE DO. Technically. And we’ve failed.
Just a little on this.
Cook has expressed to the club that he would like to increase his stay from the original 3 years to 5 at a minimum.
He came to the club after the ‘external review’ took place, which in its findings decided that Lloyd and Liddle were doing a fantastic job, and it was only Teague that was at fault.. (absurd) and only 6 days before Voss was announced as coach. Once the decision making processes were all but done.
It will take time, unfortunately, for Cook to ultimately be able to make the changes and adjustments he wants. To call a for another review within the timeframe he’s been there so far, so soon upon the back of the last would of been impossible.
Austin I am happy to give more time to.
I feel he’s done a lot quite well so far, and I believe that he will be able to do a lot better when the club sorts itself out.
Having a very vocal and stubborn head coach, a previous list manager as head of the footy department, and the high up figures within the club still under the spell of his predecessor has somewhat limited his authority.
One could argue that this is on Austin for not being strong enough as a leader, but that would be very unfair, without understanding the handcuffs he’s had on him.
And as for Voss’ assistants, well let’s not be to quick to judge them. As at the end of the day the head coach has the final call, and to put it politely, not all the assistants agree with their boss.

I think there is a whole thread for that! I put my thoights there...
The knives were out for Cain the moment Silvagni lost his job. Whilst he was no longer employed, his influence was never quelled. If they thought Liddle was doing a fantastic job why did he get the arse? Purely because Cook was available?
Thanks for sharing and the insight.Just a little on this.

The fact Brian Cook himself wants to extend his stay at the club to 5 years at a minimum, makes me really happy and confident that he will turn this club around for the better!!!Just a little on this.

Nice timing by Sayers to * off to Italy while our club is in disarray and his legal troubles are piling up. What a joke.
Yep. Cook is the one who knows what a well run football club looks like. Needs to be given some time to put his stamp on things. Will be fascinating to see the personnel he thinks he can move forward with and the ones he can’t.Good.
Cook is the only bloke in the entire organisation who’s a proven winner.
Give him the keys and get the * out of his way!
He’s still in Melbourne and at the Club tonight.
