I have hope in the technology that Eddie is working with and is trailing; they've put a micro chip in the ball, and sensors on the goal posts. It will confirm with high accuracy if a shot is a goal, point, touched, OOF. It could effectively do away with goal umpires.
They plan to test it in the VFL later this year.
