I think the minimum should not have been given seeing as this is the action the AFL are trying to stamp out. He elected to bump and jumped and laid a bloke out for a god knows how long.

Its interesting the take that hewitt should have protected himself more. The AFL have created this by sanitising the game (for the good). 30 years ago players would be expecting cheap shots.

Even worse IMO is when players go for the ball head first rather than turning their body while getting the ball. That is incorrect technique.

So the nub is if they play finals they can only match 2 1st round bids (and they have 3 likely 1st round academy boys), and
if they finish top 4 (make the last 4 in the finals) they can only match 1 1st round bid.
