Keep... Think not that many great left backs out there...The discussion around Keiran Tierney has become interesting. If, as some suspect, we adopt Pep's 3-2-4-1 formation, then Tierney might have a role to play after all. What's everyone's read? Cash in or keep?
Cash in or keep?
Cash in might not be an option. Interest seems limited, Newcastle haven’t pushed the boat out yet.
Agree. I'm a fan as well, and I don't really see Zinchenko as a left back, so without Tierney, we are pretty thin. But if we play 3 at the back, then Tierney and Kiwior will be back up to Gabriel. I feel that gives us really good quality depth that mirrors White, Saliba and Tomiyasu on the right. And possibly Timber as well. It's the kind of depth we need to challenge ManC.Keep... (I do like Tierney)
Nice to see ESR fit and getting amongst it at u21 level. Geez he needs a good pre season and am hoping he features prominently on the tour and gets plenty of minutes.
Balogun’s situation I can see both sides of. His value is quite high, and perhaps it’s the right time to sell and cash in. At the same time though I like his swagger, there’s something about this bloke. Out of him and Nketiah, would much prefer to sell Eddie and see in Balogun can be integrated into the first team.
Whether that’s acceptable to him or not is a different story. He also presents quite the conundrum for KSE, he can provide considerable commercial value now as a poster boy in the US market.
Tierney I think will be moved on this summer. Lots of noise around Partey too. Which on face value makes me a tad nervous, that’s a very significant midfield change if he and Xhaka departed the club in the same summer. Which leads me to think that perhaps there’s the off field stuff that has been looming since last season that might be a factor in this.
If we sell Partey before Rice and/or Caicedo is secured, we're mad.Nice to see ESR fit and getting amongst it at u21 level. Geez he needs a good pre season and am hoping he features prominently on the tour and gets plenty of minutes.

And given that Citeh have reportedly made a £90m offer for Rice, Partey being gone isn't a given yet.
Yes Partey's future I feel is very much contingent on what we do with incomings. I'd imagine that's why Xhaka to Leverkusen hasn't been finalised/announced as yet. Perhaps after Havertz and/or Rice or someone else. Bit of a domino effect with transfers, a flurry of activity at the start and then the club will look to secure deals to exit players. ie if Timber happens, that's the writing on the wall for Holding or Tierney.
Holding should be banished irrespective of Timber.

Balogun only has 2 years remaining on his deal and (if reported correctly) has no intention of re-signing without guarantees of starting next season.
And to be honest that's fair enough given the season he's had in France, he'd probably be a starter at a lot of clubs around Europe and at 21 sitting on the bench while looking at same aged mates like Saka/Martinelli start every game would be grinding.
IMO Arsenal would be better off selling him and pushing for a generous sell on clause or first refusal option. Otherwise we risk holding on to a player for another season: He may prove to be the second coming of Henry next season...and yay for us he signs a new contract (Or still refuses then we in trouble).
Or he might be more of a Lacazette/Pepe type player (more suited to France than the Premier League) and he struggles next season causing his stock to plummet, he'll be almost out of contract and we get nothing for him.
Unless Eddie is out the door this window I'd imagine Balogun will be gone.
This. 100% this.I think at his age now, he really should look at other opportunities. He's actually not as bad as his recent appearences suggest, its just that Arsenal's system has evolved beyond his style of play and his limitations are quite exposed in Arsenal's set up. He can still go on to have a very good PL career elsewhere in England. Clearly he's well liked by Arteta and the squad however it does seem like now is the time.
