Went to see one of the apparent matches of the round on the weekend between South Morang and Thomastown. At quarter time the game was certainly living up to all expectations and promised to be a very tight affair. But the home team blew the game open in the second quarter and South Morang did not have any answers. I have seen a few Thomastown games this year and it was by far one of their better performances. Having said that, I have also seen South Morang play a few games at Mill Park Lakes and their game was a shadow of the performances they have put out this year, particularly after quarter time. Better players for Thomastown were their small forward in Calafiore and the guy in dreadlocks, Collins. For South Morang, Dowell was a solid contributor and Tennant battled hard in the ruck.
Also caught the last quarter and a half of the early game and South Morang lost that convincingly as well. Anyone from Morang watch the game and care to make comment?

This was a season defining game would have put us 2 games clear of thomastown and we did struggle. Tennant dominated in the air but around the ground we did not get enough bodies around the ball. The 2's also put in a below par performance we have had a pretty quick side this yr but thomastown made us look very slow on the weekend. The 2's had a few of the regulars out on the weekend, at full strength I have no doubt they would beat thomastown.

From what I saw of the Thomastown Vs South Morang Reserves game, it looked like South Morang ran out of legs in the last quarter of a very quick, high pressure game. From what I saw of the Thomastown Vs South Morang Reserves game, it looked like South Morang ran out of legs in the last quarter of a very quick, high pressure game. It was a very well fought out match especially in close with the better team winning on the day. Saying that you have regular players out is a terrible comment to make as at this time of the year many teams are missing a few top players and are going in not full strength. All the best for the rest of the year

are there any lalor guys on this thread? just wondering what you think your chances are this week?? also interested in finding out from other clubs whitch way you think the points will go and why??

it will be a top game think that the bloods are going to cause the upset of the round beating favorites maclaeod, to get up by 8 points in a close one. think it will be a good dual in the ruck this week with maffalofski vs shaw. i think both sides match up evenly. cant wait for sat.

do you play yourself stooge?? shaw will not play on maffalofski unless he starts to tear the game up in the ruck!! Moloney is the ruck man and has been playing great footy maffalofski would want to be on his game.

Maleod has had a great start to the season but have a real test ahead playing Lalor, Whittlesea, Lower and a much improved Watsonia in the next 5 weeks. Cant wait for some great games of footy, hopefully there will be some close hard games ahead.

i heard that the Wallan/Kinglake game had more than a few scraps in it and that the Wallan guys were not to impressed with the Kinglake attack on the man instead of the ball, any truth in it????

hey all new to this thread...yeah there were a few scraps in saturdays game, pretty much only the last qtr when we started to kick away from them, a few of their guys started to go the man, but oh well i guess that can happen in a game when two sides are desperate to get that first win!

Stooge, I see Dasher is still going around. Any chance he will line up on Puffa? Could be interesting if he does! Macleod at home by 3-4 goals i would think. Looking forward to a great game between to young sides that should be right in the mix come finals time.

Good to see I was named in Macleods unofficial team of the decade posted on the website this week. Not bad for a bloke who done his knee in '99 and was never really the same player again. Interesting to see Junior in there as an emergency too! What about you Hawk? Did your magent fall off the board?

Should be back this week this week. For how long, who knows? The Pies v The Cats next week is pretty tempting but!!!! Might have to retire again.

lalor lost to parkside at parkside by 10 points.

macleod beat parkside at mcleaod by 106 points.

lets say parkside are a 6 goal better team at home

macleod to win @ macleod by 10 goals - 13 goals.

do you play yourself stooge?? shaw will not play on maffalofski unless he starts to tear the game up in the ruck!! Moloney is the ruck man and has been playing great footy maffalofski would want to be on his game.

yeah i play but im out with a busted hand out 4 8-12 depends how it heals. maffa is in great form always seems to stand up in big games. i think it will be a top game hope puffer does a hammy thurs night.

Well I hope Lalor are at full strength so it gives us (Macleod) a true
indication of where we are at.

I suspect that Lalor may put too much focus on Puffer which is mighty
dangerous considering the bevy of talent in the entire team.

i was actually going to write something about hurst and wallan ice man mate you are a big show i think just need everything to go your way and yeah you may just pinch it. lets just hope you didnt party to hard last week. good luck buddy...
