Are you forgetting that that's actually what they did, and for 9 months they did exactly nothing.

I wouldn't be so sure. A lot of the AFL's own approaches to the issue were based on Hawthorn's internal review, as per Gil's comments.

If that entire review is scrapped, then we're back to the drawing board, potentially.

(Or the AFL could just sweep it all under the rug, which is obviously very possible).

They attempted their investigation. They didn't have the investigative powers to do it. There's nothing else to do other than respond to whatever comes from the other realms it gets taken to.

I think the only way to right this is the AFL strip us of our pick and hand it to North as compensation.

Extra R1 for Hawks, Roos and Bris due to AFL mismanagement is fair. Hopefully we will find out who leaked the report to ABC (incresingly likely it was Egan out for money and attention) which should lead to Hawks and coaches suing that organisation for tens of millions.

On the topic of Egan's charges - unfortunately for indigenous communities this shit is rife in ACCO's. Might already be known but one of the people appointed to the independent panel was CEO of an ACCO and left under dodgy circumstances as did the previous CEO before them.

That's not the question. If he's charged then they are likely to be confident he did what they say he did, specially given the public visibility.

Thing is how much coaching went on, how much embellishing was suggested, how much inducement/encouragement took place with the carrot of a financial payout for the players happened.

With his alleged past its very hard to not assume at least a bit of this happening.

This line of reasoning is now irrelevant and a waste of time continuing to repeat the question over and over in this thread. The report has no credibility and the complaints need to be heard and tested in a competent forum, which they will be according to the complainants lawyers.

I think the reason Coles is out of eggs at present is because of all the egg on peoples faces over this situation.

Most people need to just admit they were wrong and be a bit more of a grown up adult in this case. Just apologise to Clarko and Fagan and make things right
