Langdon and Acres have both gone up a level since leaving Freo. Not sure if theory that holds water. If we get him for a pick in the 20s I'd be happy though.
Be later than a pick in the 20s. He has don’t bugger all. Ben long did more and we got pick 35 for him

He looked like spud until half way through this year but really stepped up since. His form has tapered off a little but looks a lot more promising than Long who was already mature age when we took him. If we can get him for a pick around 35 I'd be very happy with that.

Collingwood treat contracts like a suggestion

I'm not sure that he's massive priority. I guess he's an upgrade on Sharman maybe? He does convert his chances.

Sincs definitely proves you cant lose hope to quickly.. I never saw it and look at him now. Wasn’t Lenny also a latish bloomer?? Memory failing me
A lot of this kids don't come good until the fully develop , expecting young kids to jump out the box like Daicos is unrealistic.
To me once they turn around 24yrs of age you should start to see the results of the development they have been building on.
For example Coffield looks the goods now however Clark just doesn't look as though he he really developed physically which would of helped him knowing he hasn't got the speed to match it with most of the midfielders.
Gresham is another with talent that hasn't really come on as well and then you look at Windhager , Owens , Milera who all look to have grown and put on body strength.

We currently have a batch of kids in the 2s who are in development and I don't expect to see to much from them for another couple years even if they do play seniors next year like Heath , Keller , Els , Adams and Hotton - one guy who should be ready to show something is Allison and hopefully he gets his act together because he has the size and athlete ability become a player.

A kid like Caminti is only going to get more powerful and to see him showing so much promise at a early age is very encouraging, even Sharman is starting to mature and could easily step up a gear in the future - but then again it all comes down to there determination to get the best out of them selves.

Writing kids off in there early 20s is premature because as we know alot of the guys mature later than others and it is a fact the taller guys take longer than others and this why a guy like Marshall has the best in front of him and in saying that King is only really starting.

A fine example is Wood , he has always had the ability but it was most probably just believing in himself and the guy is nearly 30 however with his endurance he could be at his best well into to his 30s like Bilcavs for Geelong.

Gresh has got to go, irrespective of the Pick available.

He is beyond selfish, doesn't acknowledge or learn his physical limitations and wastes opportunity after opportunity.

We will be far better without him momentum killing us with loopy kicks, poor set shots or burning teammates.

Must go

Henry has pace and has shown this year he can play as a midfielder and a kid who hasn't even turned 22 has massive upside if they can develop the kid to get the best out of himself and to me he is a must get because we need speed and he has it and has good disposal.

Not in his ability. I think he's got some skills, just once you miss two years injured it becomes a long way back. He wasn't best 22 when he went down. Now he has to break into a side that will have guys like Hotton, Keeler, McLeenan and a bunch of new recruits all trying to break in to the best 22.

Has to push out Webster, Battle, Stocker types as well as getting back to demanding a spot while staying fit enough to play. If he was a racehorse the knackery would be calling if he breaks down next season.

To me if he gets back it's a bonus but shouldn't be planned around. He'll be in his 7th season next year and only just hitting 50 games. He's going to have to come back in exceptional condition and stay fit while playing like every game could be his last. Might be good motivation.
Next season just starts again. I don’t see any kind of pre ordained ranking being an issue. If he’s good enough over pre season and then he’ll play. Fabulous in 20, very average 21, apparently sparking pre season ahead of 22, then injured since.

Agree. Surely he’s still a 20s pick. He has both the high original pick, but also now really showing something.

His 2020 was good but it was his intercept marking that stood out. Otherwise he was fairly flat footed and low production. I think he was averaging around 14 touches. Ratts started dropping him in 2021 because he moved Battle into the intercepting role and he jumped past Coff and had a bit more height in one on ones. I hope he gets back but it's a bonus now.

I think that with Wood, it was more that he was given a role that suited his strengths.
Didn't North always use him as a forward?

Charlie Curnow didn't roughly play for 2 years so missing a few years while they are still young doesn't effect them if they are talented.

Henry is a prime candidate to wither and die on the marvel wing as so many have done before him. He has no other strings to his bow except for wing at Optus which is the easiest place to play that position in the land. He’s worth a pick in the 20s but not for us. We need to avoid that one.
If we could build a strong midfield, with the whole team capable of winning contested ball, then Players like Hill, Henry can flourish.. Currently, half of the team can’t win contested ball, this needs to be addressed. Especially the backline. Stocker, Wilkie, Sinclair win their own ball. Webster, Howard are stoppers only, often punches the ball away then falls over, so need to be be improved.

By memory, Lenny showed some special trait’s pretty early on. But this was a long time ago!
Sure did C twirl
Archer absolutely shirt fronted the suitcase out of him in his first run

Coffield just needs to get some run back in his legs after his injuries and he will be fine , the thing about him he now has a physical presence than being the skinny kid his was before and he has good disposal.

A lot of young players after having a good season like he did in 2020 and have a bad 2nd yr thinking they have the game under control , once they find out they need to put in the effort the penny drops and he is now at the age were he can become a very useful player , but sadly he has missed another year.

He needs to be signed before he is tempted to head to another club.

I'm interested to know who people would trade to improve our hand in the draft and trade arena's this off-season? There's a lot of talk about who should be chopped, but if we want to make step changes to the quality of our list we need to offer up a player/players with real value on the market.

Everyone keeps focusing on who we should jettison, but keep in mind, if they are serious about improving the list deficiencies we need to offer something of value. I know the list management team already have a plan, but what do us plebs think?

It's got to be someone we either already have cover for, or we have kids developing that will provide cover for in the medium term.

I know we all know he's a star, but watching norf v dons game - I would give one of me plums to get LDU in our team.
Farrrk me he's a jet. Burst pace, high footy IQ, makes the right choices, contested weapon and has actual good skills. Hits bullet passes by hand and foot to teammates.
Would be bloody nice.

We’ll ring up GC about pick 5 the day before the draft. “Sorry mate, we sold that two months ago. Flanders and pick 5 for two thirds”.
To Geelong. They particularly love getting fleeced by Geelong:

Gold Coast negotiating with Geelong is like Homer negotiating with Bart
