Rumour is fact that Kew will be seeking a new coach in 2024.

A very amicable handover.

Love him or dislike him, he has been great for his own club and has always created interesting discussion around the VAFA.
Yep, complete knob. His behaviour on more than a few occasions that I’ve personally witnessed has been below what anyone should expect at a game of VAFA football and the comp is better for him not being in it.

I have no doubt he can coach, he has a great record with Kew.
Unfortunately, being a good coach is more than just your ability to move magnets around.

Last game in the VAFA tomorrow for my club and unfortunately we are limping to the line in SEN and RES. Thankfully we have some finals action with our Thirds who make it to another Prelim v Bedders Boys on Sunday.

I have loved the banter from (most) people on these forums and enjoyed some solid football discussions to pass the time away. I wish everyone the best for not only themselves, but also the clubs they support and love. The VAFA is a wonderful competition, full of wonderful people and I will always have many, many great memories of playing and supporting the Hoers against all and sundry. But for us, it's time to explore new options and see if that can help our club moving forward. Enjoy and good luck all!

just think about the free beers Chumpy Chump as an ex legend of the dinosaur VAFA, just need to go from humpy to main bar in clubrooms!

Cannot wait to umpire 2s there next year and have a few froffies!

UHSVU (huge game)
Payhran
Peninsula
Kew
Glen Eira
I'd like to echo Chumps sentiments. I have met many great people throughout the VAFA.

A brave new world for the Hoes next year. I'll miss going to the various clubs and the people involved and going forward I hope everyone gets the enjoyment I have out of local footy.

We played our 98th Reserves player for the year today - massive effort not to forfeit. Bit disappointing that our opposition played 18 v 14 all day and did not 'even up'. But rather than complain or forfeit we just played, got smashed, but hit the pub tonight together. Great effort lads. 🤍🖤💪

Interesting. Why should they even up if you can’t get enough to fill the ground? And where do you draw the line? 17, 16, 15?
If they even up and play 14 on 14, what if they lose? That’s not really fair is it?

Bit cheap when you’ve filled a 3rds side comfortably weekly. Maybe some cohesion wouldn’t go astray Chump. Off ya’s go, see ya later mate

So 14 v 18 was the right thing to do was it? We should have just forfeited if you think that is ok, but didn't.

As for our thirds we have an agreement with that group - who came to our club to play togther as a group of mates only or not at all - that they don't 'feed seniors or reserves'. They also were 'short' on 4-6 weeks mid year with 9 O/S. We have honoured that agreement (or the team would not exist) and done everything possible to still field a team each week in our twos. Another club supported that with the 'even up' rule on the one occasion we needed it so people got a game, another club took the piss -IMO
