We havent unfortuately shared any off level off success you guys have had. Pavlich is a first real marque player we've had for our club. I'm noot sure you understand just how big he is to us at Fremantle.
All you'll mostly hear from over here in the west is about Judd as the media is quite awfully weasels biased.
If he goes, he goes, [ can you afford him? ] but a real buzz will leave with him from our club and our match day experience. Just watching the big fella mark in front of the sticks and slot one through is almost a holy experience.

2 days before announcing he wanted to return home; didn’t Josh Carr suggest to the media and his Port Adelaide mates that he wanted to stay at Port Adelaide?

And we all know that he is now a Fremantle Docker.

I think Matthew Primus suggested to the media that Josh wanted to stay - Josh may very well have suggested it to his teammates during a post season celebration. As someone pointed out earlier though, Josh left Port with nothing left to prove. Pav still has an awful lot of unfinished business at Freo. I'm sure he's lay awake more than once thinking how good it would be to be the inaugural Premiership Captain of Freo - we're the only club left where anyone can do that anymore.
 
I reckon that Pav will stay his captain and every Freo supporters favorite player I would be over the moon to have him at port but sadly he will re-sign with you guys. The media makes money publishing rumours and people just think they are real although I would like it to be real about him coming the Power, his IMO the best forward in the league

The eight long years bit didn't sound very good. If Pav believes that Freo will go places in the next three years he will stay. If he loses that belief he will go. I wouldn't blame him. So if the players and the club want Pav to stay they need to show him that this belief is justified and not just some perennial mirage. If CC goes then we gotta get Sheedy, I'm not sure he'd stick around for Suma or Mark Harvey etc.

So if he does go, Port Adelaide, the Crows and Freo will be playing that stupid game akin to the Cuban Missile crisis. Mutual Assured Destruction. We need Port Adelaide in this bidding war because if it is just Adelaide then they can just say "take our offer or leave it it's no skin off our nose." Strangely enough Pav needs both Port Adelaide and Adelaide to think he wants to go to either place even if he just wants to go to Adelaide. There has to be a better way.

I would want two top ten draft picks. One in the top5. And griffen. I can't think of anything else Santa.

Adelaide have a reputation in the league as being fair traders! There will not be any danger of us trying to low ball you so to speak. IF Pavlich decides to come to Adelaide, I am sure we will try our best to meet your demands within reason.

We understand that its important to have good relations with all clubs because if you don't it can do more damage to you down the track that it would benefit in the short term.

Adelaide trades fair and if Pavlich says I am off to Adelaide, the fair deal will be done.

From the few interviews i've seen of this guy,he has no command of the english language at all and seriously he can't string 2 words together.How is he going to motivate your players? Really the guy's a joke.
Harvey should take over as senior coach if cc is not there.It was Harvey,behind the scenes, that got Freo going last year.
 
Ok let me start this post of by saying in no way do i want to trade Matthew Pavlich, and i dont think we will even need to consider it to be honest.
Can you imagine the pressure he will feel if he returns to SA? The superstar of the league bought back to SA with a huge pay packet, cost the club draft picks and a player probably and he WOULD HAVE TO win them a flag of his own back to justify it.

Ok anyway to the point of my post. IF the trade has to be done and we get what it hink he is worth and that is 2 x 1st rounders plus Van Berlo. Look at what that could possibly men for the future. All thigns goin well in the draft we could have 3 x 1st round picks which all going well could net us Masten, Palmer and Morton, plus van Berlo in a trade. To me thats not all that bad, short term pain for long term gain i guess.
We could alse send off a pick and something little to the Eagles for Dan Kerr, i still think thats a possiblity at some stage.

You calling Pavlich soft?? Soft is a term reserved for Warren Tredrea who is a has been.

In case you havent noticed Pavlich is in the top 5 players in the comp. You dont get a player like that unless you give up something for him, Nathan Krakour is no good, wont amount to anything, be lucky to be on your list in 3 years time, too lightly framed. Cassissi is an average player, nothing special about him.

We would want your 1st round pick + 3rd Round Pick + one of Gray/Salopek/Pearce

I'm not even a Freo supporter and I can see that deal sucks bigtime. Would also want Carltons top pick as well at the very least plus something else.

BTW I think and hope Pav will stay with you guys, from the interview it looked like he was just toying with numbskull Reid.

For the Crows did you mean? You obviously have not had much to do with Van Berlo. A top young footballer with quality and something very rare in fotballers...brains. People in Adelaide rate him as captain material so I don't think he'll be in the deal. The thing you guys at Freo need to be concerned about is the "free agent rule" that Benny GAle has been speaking about! After a certain number of year's service to a club the player can walk....and one of their models suggests that it would be for nothing!!

You obviously have not had much to do with Pavlich. Probably the 2nd best footballer in the entire league - with extraordinary quality and something very rare in footballers...brains. And believe it or not people in Freo actually rate him as captain material too.

We're not talking about trading for some Johnny Average here. Make no mistake, if you want Pav you better be prepared to give up some quality.

Except you are forgetting one thing here. Pavlich is out of contract at the end of the year. If Freo try to bully him into this, then he might just get peeved off and walk into a PSD. That way he ends up in Victoria and Freo end up with nothing.

Point is, what you are suggesting will not happen. If Pavlich says I want back to SA, then the deal will get done with SA club. This bullying tactics NEVER ever work and while you might win this battle, you lose the war.
