Why do you say that?
He’s the right age profile for the team as. You’ve topped up with two good players on long term contracts.
He fits a need, replaces Castagna, and adds speed and outside run.
He’s going to be cheap.
He won’t require draft capital, which you don’t have anyway.
And some old guy told me.

I wouldn't say he adds speed but he would definitely be best 22 for not a lot financially. Haven't seen anything linking us to him other than some pretty vague remarks from Cal Twomey.

To be fair, 40-3 has been very solid with ITK info on the Carlton board in the past.

Thought he was one of the few who stood up for the Saints on the weekend.

Didn't trouble the scoreboard but created some opportunities and hunted the opposition.

I'd love him at the Hawks.

The same guy that told me Hardwick had quit before it broke has also said he believes Gresham is Tigers bound. FWIW, I didn't believe him then and I dont believe him now.

Makes sense in alot of ways though, as mentioned above we have no trade capital so taking FA's that improve the 22 is the best chance to improve in 2024

Thought he also looked really clean despite so much crap ball coming his way.

Not just saying it because it's my team, but Hawthorn seems far more suited than any other club.

Brockman and Wingard need replacing.

We're also projecting upward.

Richmond would seem like a rather strange choice to me from the perspective of the individual. Happy to leave a club that's been consistently below average to a club on the way down after 3 flags in 4 years. You'd think he'd opt for either the biggest pay day (North?) Or a club who realistically should be competing for silverware within the next 3-5 years.

Unless the Tigers are really confident of rising back up the ladder, or they indeed prepared to pay him the most.

I do agree that it’s a bit of an odd choice if he goes to Richmond.
Depends on what basis he's making his decision. Cotchin and Riewoldt gone, no up and comers I can think of at Richmond demanding a big salary increase for next year. Plenty of room in the cap I'm sure.

If you fancy Gresham, you should be pretty happy with the above mail 😎

Geez hawks supporters are sure up and about after a strong 15th finish aren't they...

This is list management season for everybody who didn't make finals.

The next 5 years at Richmond a bit uncertain considering the recent retirements, the age demographic and the missing first round draft selections for two consecutive seasons.

Nothing is certain in footy, but players and managers would have seen the Hawks knock off Collingwood and Brisbane this season (while being the youngest side in the comp) and realised they're an attractive option if you're selling potential future success.

Yeah I was being a bit facetious. I do like what the Hawks are doing. Hard to gauge where we're truly at though. Any time your coach walks out mid season is an asterisk year. Isn't a main reason Gresham wants out is to play big games at the G? If so then that's more in our favor than North or Hawks. Not having a coach definitely isn't though but if he does choose us then it won't be on a whim, we'd have been talking to his management for months.

The age demographic will look a fair vit different with Cotchin, Reiwoldt and Tarrant gone who are all 33+.

Pretty weird way to play this by StKilda.
No contract offer all year in an FA year.
FA compo is hardly worth getting excited about.
Tell him at exit interview you want to keep him.

Some classic SOS/Gubby moves going on here.
We won’t him to stay but in our terms and reduced coin.

Lyon doesn’t want him to stay. He’d have an offer already if he did.

As soon as we starting winning a few more games those MCG attendances will go up.

North, unfortunately, are unlikely to ever have that as drawing power.

Definitely interesting times ahead for Richmond. Will be a hard team to place come ladder prediction time.

Jake Nial from the age reporting Essendon a chance of snaring Gresham.

Sounds like he'll be coming to Essendon if he decides to leave
It was a nothing article.

Yeah I meant with the half a dozen home games you play in tassie and marvel more than the crowd size at the G.

I think the Tigers are on a bit of a decline, it's natural. But Richmond get big crowds and to their credit, the fans have always turned up regardless

That and a fat contract might be more important to him
