Some of these predictions of him being a top 3 pick are pretty bloody optimistic.

I'd like us to move our future first into this year but there's every chance we just hold it, use it by making a selection prior to a Welsh bid.

We.can do.what Gold Coast have done this year and get over the top offers for it next year if it looks like being an issue.

I hope we hold it.

True.. but that doesnt negate my point does it.. if we are gonna bring in a constantly injured hack that cant even get a game in front of Billy Frampton.. then we might as well of held onto Frampton as depth..

its just bewildering list management..

surely we can find something better than that though?.. hell.. why dont we simply give Jack Madgen a rookie spot for 12 months if thats all we’re looking for.. just some “break glass” emergency depth..
Yeah if we are targeting someone purely for depth, you'd want to make sure they are at least durable and not constantly injured.

Kreuger is a last chance saloon kinda guy, would be a minimal deal and not cost much trade currency (if any) to get him on the team.

If we're still gung-ho on picking up a guy like Brennan Cox this time next year we don't need to sell the world to get a grade A defender in now. We just need a guy who can fill out some depth if we need to call on it.

Thinking on it, I wonder if part of the AFL compensation package we are seeking - and iirc we mentioned trading concessions as part of it centres around the ability to trade GC 2nd back to them so we can try and lock in a deal fort pick 4. Not a key cornerstone of any compo I would not think but part of it to help us out without having to try and split it and miss out on a deal to another club??
As far as I'm aware we can trade it back to them because we are in a different trade draft period than when we received it, I thought that only applies for the year the exchange takes place.

ROB appears very comfortable... not helped that we have only dropped him once & usually play him regardless of form.
ROB knows he's locked and loaded every game until his contract expires. He also knows we likely will also have no backup plan when his contract expires and will get another 2-3years. Its how we roll. Ruck hasn't really been a priority at the club since Rehn.

Lol people are complaining that we might give up any capital for kpd depth then complaining when the free hit isn’t a star. All we need is a cheap plug in defender that can serve as depth as we recover from Murray’s injury. Hold off on spending any capital on kpd until after we’ve targeted Cox as a FA.

absolutely spot on..and even then, If Murray comes back well from his ACL, Butts rediscovers his early career form and Keane kicks on from the good form he showed late season, Cox won't be a need

Yep come this time next year we’ll have a better understanding of
  • if any two of Murray/Butts/Keane are part of our next flag push
  • if Cox is gettable/necessary
